Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY: Provide leadership and daily direction to all manufacturing departments. Ensure compliance to all company policies and procedures. Responsible for all manufacturing related activities in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and cost control. Establish and maintain a culture of empowerment and continuous improvement.

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure compliance to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Plan, organize, and direct the manufacturing function to ensure the most effective return on assets.
  • Interact regularly with Shift Leaders and production employees to provide direction and leadership.
  • Be a visible presence in manufacturing areas.  
  • Ensure manufacturing records are compliant to plant procedures/certifications.
  • Provide leadership and adequate resources to support site quality systems.
  • Ensure compliance to all site quality policies and procedures.
  • Support regional quality standard systems for commercialization, preventive, and corrective action.
  • Ensure compliance to daily production schedule.
  • Participate in daily operations meetings and periodic plant communications meetings.
  • Ensure budget and financial forecasts are developed and met.
  • Partner with the Supply Chain function to ensure timely, effective and efficient procurement, planning, inventory levels and delivery of finished goods.
  • Partner with Human Resources function to ensure effective management of human capital.
  • Participate in long term strategic planning involving the optimum utilization of plant assets and human resources.
  • Through leveraged knowledge of current technology and market trends, participates in the definition of advanced products required to sustain a cost-effective competitive position.
  • Initiate plans and processes to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
  • Ensure compliance with all government regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, quality, high performance, and process excellence.
  • Establish team and individual accountabilities for problem solving and cost reduction.
  • Ensure effective labor utilization within the department to allow for maximum return on labor investment.        
  • Establish management practices in department to encourage employees’ positive involvement, with the opportunity for constructive input and action.
  • Supports operational excellence effort for the department.
  • Responsible for training and development for the department.
  • Direct or support the effective implementation of investment projects approved for capacity or facility expansion and upgrades.
  • Supervise/manage direct reports (including decision-making for hiring, promotion and discharge).
  • May lead or participate in regional or global projects.
  • Provide backup for Site Leader.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • An undergraduate degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of experience and education is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role in manufacturing
  • Six Sigma Black or Green belt preferred.

 

EFFORT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Candidates must be able to lift to 25 pounds occasionally.  
  • Requires the ability to prioritize work effectively and make informed decisions. 
  • Proficiency in reading charts, documenting numbers, and recording events both on paper and digitally, required.
  • Able to interpret laboratory equipment readings.  
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Understands goals of the group and interact with digital and basic computerized record & control systems

Skills Required
