Serve as the on-site Contract Plant Resident Engineer, representing the supplier and acting as the primary quality liaison at the OEM facility to protect production and minimize disruptions, including spills, stockouts, and line downtime.
Lead on-site coordination and response for supplier-related spills and material issues, including yard, dock, and line-side activities, ensuring timely containment and communication.
Support and coordinate containment, sorting, and rework activities as required to prevent nonconforming material from entering or disrupting production.
Perform and oversee on-site inspections, sorting, and testing activities (dimensional, material, and functional) in accordance with OEM and customer requirements.
Implement and communicate standardized inspection methods, work instructions, and temporary quality controls to support containment activities.
Verify, document, and track breakpoint material; ensure proper identification, segregation, and quarantine of suspect, nonconforming, or legacy stock.
Provide 24/7 on-call support to respond to OEM quality concerns, production interruptions, and emergency containment needs, as defined by contract requirements.
Requirements
Support Controlled Shipping Level I and Level II activities, coordinating with the OEM, supplier, and third-party providers as necessary.
Participate in cross-functional problem-solving teams, supporting root cause analysis, corrective actions, and verification of effectiveness.
Maintain accurate quality documentation and reporting using Microsoft Word, Excel, and internal quality systems.
Demonstrate working knowledge of automotive OEM quality standards and customer-specific requirements, with emphasis on GM standards.
Apply quality engineering and quality control principles to support defect containment, issue resolution, and continuous improvement efforts.
