LEVEL DESIGN INTERNWhat You'll DoEpic is looking for a Level Design Intern to join our Design team working on Fortnite. In this role, you'll utilize your experience, knowledge of design tools, and sense of scale to push the visual quality of the game and delight players with fresh experiences. Level Designers at Epic are a part of a cross-discipline content team working to develop great-looking levels that expand the Fortnite universe.
In this role, you will- Work closely with level designers and environment artists to learn what makes successful Fortnite landmarks and POIS
- Work in the Unreal Engine using modular kits to design visually appealing and fun locations that follow gameplay rules
- Assist other designers by helping improve existing landmarks and POIS
- Attend playtests, provide feedback, and identify practical solutions to problems
- Unreal Engine experience is required
- Direct involvement with prop placement, lighting, mood/atmosphere and design markup
- Passion for games with a wide range of game experiences
- Strong interest in Battle Royale and multiplayer games with an understanding of what makes them work
- Learns quickly, follows guidance, and completes assigned tasks within expected timelines
- A willingness to learn and grow through challenges. Someone who is open to feedback and guidance, tries different approaches when needed, and uses those experiences to build confidence and develop their skills
- Clear and proactive communication with the immediate team. Someone who asks questions when they need additional guidance, communicates task updates, and knows when to reach out to more experienced teammates for support
This internship has a flexible start date in 2027. Recruitment will be ongoing until teams find an ideal match.
