Job Description
What You’ll Do
Manages legal risk activities among assigned categories (i.e. risk reporting, key risk indicator tracking, risk and control self assessments, business unit testing and monitoring, control design reviews, issue and action plan management). Manages the documenting, reporting, and testing of controls consistent with the risk management framework, tools, and risk reporting requirements for the Legal Organization. Responsible for support of the legal library inventory of laws and regulations, as well as the legal and regulatory change management process (ICAP), including but not limited to data management, reporting and end-user system support. Assists in driving operational efficiency while balancing risk. Regular interaction with leadership, coverage attorneys, and cross-functional business partners.
How You’ll Do It
- Perform departmental Business Unit Testing and Monitoring (BUTM) and work with control owners to remediate any control deficiencies. Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in control testing.
- Manage legal and operational risk activities such as operational risk incident reporting, and Key Risk and Performance Indicator reporting including annual KRI refresh. Manage Risk and Control Self Assessments, Risk and control library including maintaining a consolidated database of remediation efforts related to Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) activities, compliance review findings, internal audit findings or other activities.
- Oversee annual review schedule and coordination of policies and procedures. Monitor and ensure format follows corporate standards, and that reviews and updates are completed on a regular basis. Provide input to policy and procedure owners regarding content of the documents
- Support ICAP processes including but not limed to ensuring ICAP alerts are appropriately entered and providing support/reporting to the appropriate team(s).
- Support ongoing maintenance of the Legal Library process and other projects.
- Management of data and reporting including data maintenance/quality, Legal Library workflow approvals, report generation. Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in data and reporting. Participate in cross-functional Risk teams.
- Overall Legal Library end-user support for the Legal and Regulatory module including: development and maintenance of end-user guides, trouble-shooting assistance, etc.
Qualifications You’ll Need
The Basics
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, Economics, or related field
- 4+ years Legal Risk or Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit, Technology or Related in Financial Services
- In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of experience in Legal Risk or Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit, Technology or Related in Financial Services
Bonus Points If You Have
- Master’s degree
- 2+ years Strong technology skills including ServiceNow, Archer GRC, Microsoft Suite, wDesk
