About Skyscanner

Everyone loves travelling, but planning is not without its challenges ✈️. That’s why we’ve spent 20 years building tools that turn travel-planning chaos into a breeze. Today, around 160 million travellers count on us every month to skip the whole “47 browser tabs open” phase and find flights, cars, hotels and package holidays quickly and easily.

Join Skyscanner and be part of a global brand that’s striving to become the planet’s go-to travel hack accessible for all 🌍.

Our vision? To be the world’s number one travel ally. (Ambitious?  Yes, but that’s what got us here).

About the role

Want to explore a career in law at a global tech company? This is a paid work experience programme built for aspiring lawyers taking their very first steps - whether you’re wrapping up school or just getting started at college or university. You’ll get a real taste of life as an in-house lawyer at Skyscanner (spoiler: it’s fast-moving, varied, and no two days are the same).

Over two weeks, you’ll join our Legal team in Edinburgh, Glasgow or London — experiencing the pace, variety and real-world impact of in-house legal work up close.

We’re on a mission to widen access to legal careers and help you discover paths you might not have considered (yet). You’ll be guided by a friendly, knowledgeable team who are genuinely invested in helping you learn, grow and ask all the questions — the more curious, the better.

* This is a paid opportunity, with laptops and meal vouchers provided.

What you’ll be doing
  • Shadowing legal experts: You’ll spend time with different members of the Legal team, seeing first-hand how in-house law supports a global business.
  • Getting hands-on: You’ll take on real tasks (don’t worry, we’ll support you) to build your confidence and practical understanding.
  • Exploring legal variety: From contracts to compliance, you’ll get exposure to the wide range of work that keeps Skyscanner moving.
  • Asking questions (lots of them): Curiosity is encouraged. This is your chance to dig in and understand how things really work.
  • Building skills: You’ll develop communication, research and analytical skills that will set you up for future studies or roles.

About you
  • Early in your journey: You’re finishing school or in the early stages of college or university and curious about a career in law.
  • Curious by nature: You ask questions, explore ideas and genuinely want to understand how things work.
  • Eager to learn: You don’t need legal experience — just a willingness to get involved and try new things.
  • Open-minded: You’re excited to discover what in-house law looks like in a global tech environment.
  • Communicative: You’re comfortable sharing ideas, asking for help and engaging with new people.
  • Proactive attitude: You’re happy to roll up your sleeves and make the most of the opportunity.
  • Inclusive mindset: You value different perspectives and want to be part of a welcoming, supportive environment.
