With teams across five countries, three continents, and a global customer base, we have no plans to slow down.

The Role:
Drive Legal Innovation and Automation in High-Growth Tech

The Opportunity: Vancouver, B.C.
Full Time: 40hr/week, no remote option
Contract length: 4 months
Expected start date: Tuesday, May 5th, 2026

Join GeoComply’s legal team for a hands-on internship that offers far more than standard administrative work. You will step into a "mini law firm" environment within a high-growth technology company.

This role is designed to provide broad exposure to in-house legal activities, from customer contracts and negotiations to M&A support and board meeting preparation. You will work within a tight-knit team that prioritizes direct feedback and offers access to an extensive professional network within the city.

We are looking for a future corporate solicitor who is ready to leverage technical aptitude to solve real business challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Governance: Assist corporate counsel in executing M&A, securities, and complex corporate governance matters.
  • Commercial Contracts: Shadow and support in reviewing and negotiating customer contracts and managing legal templates.
  • Legal Research: Conduct deep-dive research into trending developments in iGaming laws, privacy, and the intersection of AI and legal policy.
  • Collaborate Broadly: Support the entire legal team, including legal operations, across employment, IP, and board-level meeting preparation.
  • Drive AI Innovation: Your main project will be to automate "Due Diligence Responses," building a centralized repository to auto-generate first-cut responses for 100+ question vendor lists.
  • Embrace Stretch Opportunities (The Fun Part!): As a GeoComply intern, expect to be pushed. You’ll be given special, high-value projects outside the immediate scope of your role, a chance to explore new skills, test your limits, and adapt to new challenges across the business.

Who You Are:

  • Educated: You are a top-performing law student from a top North American Law School. You maintain a strong academic standing, minimum of a mid-to-high 70s average or low 80s in key courses, demonstrating your ability to handle complex material
  • Detail-oriented: You have a keen eye for the little things, and you’re comfortable working with granular details
  • Communicative: Whether written or verbal, people know what you mean, what you are asking for, and what is expected
  • Organized:You have excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Passion: You have a natural desire and enthusiasm for corporate and business law. You want to build a solicitor’s practice and understand the "inner workings" of a global tech company.
  • Proficient: Interest or experience in legal work, contracts, and legal operations and administration. Familiarity with Google Suite programs is an asset.

Bonus Points if (this is for things that are NICE to have, but not needed)

  • AI & Legal Tech Curiosity: You have explored or utilized AI tools for research or workflow automation and are interested in challenging the "conservative" approach to legal tech.
  • Diverse Interests: You demonstrate leadership or high engagement in clubs, societies, or competitive sports that show you are a well-rounded individual with a competitive spirit.

What Will You Gain?

  • Direct Mentorship: Work daily alongside seasoned lawyers in a "mini law firm" environment with direct access to senior leadership.
  • Elite Networking: Access our extensive network of big-law contacts and partners in the city to help set you up for your next summer and beyond.

About GeoComply’s Early Talent Program:

Most companies see interns as cheap labour, temporary workforce or someone to delegate the tasks you don’t want to do. This as a huge missed opportunity.

GeoComply views our Early Talent Program as an opportunity to hand select and shape the growth of our future leaders. To equip them with the skills we want our future team leaders to have in five years, and our future executives to have in fifteen. We believe in developing our future pipeline of people as thoughtfully as we think about developing our products.

Here are the stats to back that up:
- GeoComply supports an average of 60 intern positions a year (globally)
- 8-10% of GeoComply’s current workforce were hired on as interns
- Each intern receives hundreds of hours of job specific training and professional development from their managers, mentors, and the Early Talent Program.
