Legal Externship OverviewAccordion is accepting applications for law student externs for Fall 2026. This opportunity will help law students to learn and understand the power of the legal function within the context of a consulting firm focused on private equity and mergers and acquisitions.
This position is unpaid. Legal externs may receive academic credit through their university’s externship program or corporate counsel practicum. Hours and schedule will depend on credit hours sought by students. This would be a hybrid role and students will have the opportunity to work both remotely and from an Accordion office. Accordion is headquartered in New York; however, this role will be based out of our Los Angeles office. Ideal candidates should be local to the desired location.
This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
What You’ll Do:Under the direction of the General Counsel, the Legal Extern will assist with projects that include contract review and management, legal technology implementation, compliance policy and process development, and other responsibilities as assigned, to include the following:
- Assisting with the drafting of documents
- Completing general document reviews and providing summaries
- Conducting legal research and compiling information
- Drafting legal memoranda
- Assisting with data management with legal intake applications
- Configuring cutting edge Legal AI Technologies
- A current law student at an accredited law school
- Interested in finance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, in-house legal practice, technology, and artificial intelligence
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and General AI Tools
- A strong communicator: you have the ability to maintain confidence of communications and information
- Detail-oriented and have strong writing, drafting, research and communication skills
- Guided by strong moral and ethical principles
- Extremely well organized and have exceptional time management skills
