Cantor International Services Limited is looking for a talented and experienced Legal Counsel to join our highly collaborative in-house team. This role is an integral part of our Corporate and M&A department, where you will have the chance to work closely with senior business leaders and internal teams. The position offers a fast-paced and demanding environment, requiring a proactive and results-driven individual. You will be responsible for providing legal support and guidance on a range of M&A transactions, corporate projects, and commercial matters, with a focus on our Group's corporate and M&A work, often involving cross-border deals. Responsibilities
  • Assist the M&A practice, taking ownership of transactions, conducting due diligence, and drafting/reviewing agreements.
  • Provide legal assistance for post-acquisition integration, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Advise on corporate/commercial projects, including new entities, reorganizations, and joint ventures.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Interact and collaborate with various internal departments, including Company Secretarial, HR, Tax, and Compliance.
  • Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality, especially when dealing with strategic matters.
  • Engage with different levels of the business, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Work autonomously and as part of a small team, collaborating with US and EMEA/APAC in-house legal teams.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal clients, building trust and confidence in your legal expertise.
Qualifications
  • English or Commonwealth qualified lawyer with a minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in Corporate, M&A, and ECM.
  • Experience in cross-border transactions is an advantage.
  • Strong academic background and a proactive, hands-on attitude.
  • Ability to manage competing demands and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a robust and engaging personality.
  • Experience working in the financial sector is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of providing legal guidance to various business levels.
  • Willingness to take ownership and work with different levels of quality and value.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong collaboration skills.
  • Discretion, confidentiality, and a mature approach to handling sensitive information.

Skills Required
