As a Legal Assistant/Paralegal, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support in matters related to landlord-tenant cases. Your role will involve assisting attorneys, preparing legal documents, and interacting with others. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the landlord-tenant relationship and the related laws and regulations and a proven track record of supporting legal professionals in this field.

Requirements

 Key Responsibilities: 

· Experience with Landlord-Tenant case filings, e-filing, court scheduling and drafting of pleadings is required.

· Assist attorneys in drafting and reviewing lease agreements, eviction notices, and other legal documents

· Communicate with clients, tenants, and opposing counsel to gather necessary information

· Prepare file (including e-filing) and organize documents for court filings and hearings.

· Assist in case management, including scheduling and calendaring and maintain accurate and up-to-date legal files

· Provide administrative support to attorneys and collaborate with other legal assistants and paralegals on the team to ensure seamless workflow and client satisfaction

· Must exemplify good computer and telephone skills and be well organized.

· Must be a team player who possesses a great work ethic, is self-motivated, professional, is comfortable learning new skills, and takes direction well.

Skills Required

  • Experience with landlord-tenant case filings, e-filing, court scheduling, and drafting pleadings
  • Understanding of landlord-tenant relationships and applicable laws and regulations
  • Ability to assist with drafting and reviewing lease agreements, eviction notices, and legal documents
  • Ability to communicate with clients, tenants, and opposing counsel
  • Ability to prepare and organize documents for court filings and hearings
  • Case management, scheduling, calendaring, and maintaining accurate legal files
  • Good computer and telephone skills
  • Strong organization, teamwork, work ethic, professionalism, and self-motivation
  • Ability to learn new skills and take direction
  • Must not be an attorney
