JOB SUMMARY

As a Learning Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the volunteer development operations and programs of the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around managing the Learning Management System (LMS) and Volunteer Toolkit System (VTK), ensuring smooth functioning, and providing technical support and coaching to users. Additionally, you will be responsible for setting up and maintaining training class equipment.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learning Management System (LMS) Administration:
    • Oversee the organization's Learning Management System for volunteers, responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and updates of online training materials and courses.
    • Collaborate with different departments to ensure training content and student assignment meets the requirements and objectives of various programs and initiatives.
    • Track and evaluate training progress and completion rates for volunteers and staff members.
  • Volunteer Toolkit System (VTK) Management:
    • Administer the Volunteer Toolkit System, an online resource for troop leaders and volunteers to plan, manage, and track troop activities.
    • Provide technical support to troop leaders and volunteers, troubleshoot issues, and assist with VTK-related inquiries.
  • Training and Support:
    • Conduct training sessions for staff, volunteers, and troop leaders on using the LMS effectively.
    • Create user guides and documentation to facilitate self-learning and improve system utilization.
    • Address user concerns, feedback, and technical difficulties promptly and professionally.
    • Create and maintain knowledge articles and supporting documentation in Volunteer Systems.
  • Training Class Preparation:
    • Organize and maintain equipment for training classes and other volunteer events
    • Set up classrooms for Council-based classes and coordinate supplies availability as needed for classes at held at outside locations
  • Data Management:
    • Maintain accurate records of training completion, system usage, and training supplies inventory.
    • Generate reports and provide insights to management regarding training engagement and system utilization by volunteers.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay updated on advancements in LMS, VTK, and any other platforms utilized for training purposes or volunteer use.
    • Propose and implement improvements to streamline processes and enhance the learning and volunteer experience.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in managing Learning Management Systems (LMS) is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with volunteers and staff.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in data management and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills Required
