We're seeking a Learning Specialist to join our Learning & Development team. In this role, you'll help employees grow, succeed, and perform at their best by designing, delivering, and evaluating engaging learning experiences that support individual development, organizational effectiveness, and the Credit Union's strategic goals.

Functions and Responsibilities

The Learning Specialist designs, develops, and facilitates both in-person and virtual learning programs. The ideal candidate is an engaging facilitator, skilled instructional designer, and collaborative partner who is passionate about employee development and lifelong learning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing, and facilitating learning programs for employees at all levels.
  • Conducting training needs assessments, identifying learning objectives, applying adult learning principles, and developing engaging learning materials in partnership with subject matter experts.
  • Preparing instructional materials, coordinating room and technology setup, delivering training sessions, and communicating with participants and managers before, during, and after training events.
  • Maintaining and continuously enhancing learning programs, training content, and course offerings to support employee development and organizational objectives.
  • Administering the Learning Management System (LMS), including creating and analyzing reports, evaluating system functionality, identifying improvement opportunities, and maximizing system utilization.
  • Researching, evaluating, and recommending external learning resources and development opportunities, including online courses, webinars, conferences, university programs, and workshops.
  • Monitoring industry trends and best practices to ensure learning programs remain current, engaging, and aligned with organizational needs.

Annual Salary $72,000 - $75,000

Experience & Education

Three to five years of similar or related experience. A bachelor’s degree, or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.

Interpersonal Skills

Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Location

This department is located at our Operations Center in Scarborough, Maine.

Skills Required
