Job Description:

The Learning & Development Specialist will support the design, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of learning and development programs that support business objectives, employee growth, leadership development, compliance, and operational excellence. This role works closely with company leaders, subject matter experts, and the Learning & Development Manager to identify training needs and coordinate effective learning opportunities for employees at all levels of the organization.

 

The Learning & Development Specialist will serve as a resource for leadership development, professional skills training, workforce development, and employee learning by coordinating internal and external training opportunities and supporting the delivery of relevant and impactful learning experiences.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of leadership development programs for supervisors, managers, directors, and emerging leaders.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining structured learning pathways that support employee growth and development.
  • Support the development and maintenance of competency models, leadership frameworks, and learning resources aligned with organizational values and objectives.
  • Coordinate new leader onboarding and management development programs.
  • Assist with evaluating training program effectiveness through participant feedback, completion data, performance metrics, and other available measures.
  • Support succession planning and employee development initiatives as directed.
  • Develop and maintain participant guides, facilitator materials, presentations, job aids, and other learning resources.
  • Coordinate internal and external training programs, including instructor-led workshops, seminars, webinars, guest speakers, conferences, and certification programs.
  • Identify and coordinate qualified instructors, consultants, and subject matter experts for specialized and ad hoc training programs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local colleges, universities, technical schools, workforce development organizations, professional associations, and training providers.
  • Research and recommend learning opportunities that support employee and organizational development.
  • Assist with scheduling, registration, communications, logistics, materials, and other administrative requirements associated with training programs.
  • Facilitate selected instructor-led training programs and employee development sessions.
  • Assist with identifying training needs through employee feedback, performance trends, business needs, and discussions with department leaders.
  • Support compliance and required training initiatives in partnership with Human Resources, Quality, Operations, and other departments.
  • Participate in special projects and other Learning & Development initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Three or more years of experience in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Training, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience coordinating and/or facilitating employee training programs.
  • Experience developing training materials, presentations, job aids, or other learning resources.
  • Experience working with external training vendors, instructors, consultants, or educational institutions preferred.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems preferred.
  • Manufacturing, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industry experience preferred.

Skills Required
