Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an EXPERIENCED LEAN PRACTITIONER (LEVEL 4) to join our BOEING COMMERCIAL AIRPLANES LEAN, COMPLIANCE & DIGITAL TEAM in the Puget Sound region including RENTON, WASHINGTON or EVERETT, WASHINGTON on 1st Shift.
Instructs others in continuous improvement tools and principles. Develops and updates instructional materials. Mentors future instructors and less experienced practitioners. Works with internal or external customers. Leads and facilitates complex process improvement efforts. Identifies risks and opportunities for improvement. Creates enhancements to existing improvement tools. Supports the development and deployment of new tools. Supports business acquisition. Participates in the evaluation process. The successful candidate will be expected to apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach with internal and external partners and leverage his/her knowledge of manufacturing processes, Lean Six Sigma, safety, quality, productivity, and affordability to shape the planning, development, and execution of Boeing Production Systems solutions to satisfy program needs.
The successful L4 Lean practitioner candidate must be able to assist with high leverage opportunities within Boeing Commercial Airplane programs in achieving their business goals through the implementation of business improvement processes and best practices. This position involves leading and or supporting the coordination and integration of multi-disciplined product teams for planning, complex problem solving, decision making and risk management to assure technical, quality and cost and schedule performance meet current and future program requirements. Candidate's focus will primarily be in the Puget Sound area of Washington, but will be required to assist in other regional areas as needed
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, guiding the effective application and integration of Lean implementation across Boeing Commercial Airplane. Works with all levels of the organization to identify risks, assists and develops integrated deployment strategies that improve the production system, and assists with the implementation of these targets. Candidate will instruct customers /partners in continuous improvement tools, principles and techniques
Mentors other lesser experiences Lean practitioners through training, coaching. Must be proficient and certified in the Lean tools (5S, VSM, AIW, 3P etc.). Leads and facilitates complex and highly visible process improvement efforts. Supports the development and deployment of new improvement tools.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Connect Lean principles and strategy to execution and results - mature Seek, Speak, Listen and closed loop for continuous improvement
  • Develop and deploy systematic approach to capture and replicate innovations and improve best practices
  • Represent Lean / continuous improvement function in Program reviews and strategic planning
  • Operationalize data analytics into daily Lean practice and priorities
  • Instructs others in continuous improvement tools and principles
  • Develops and updates instructional materials
  • Seeks out new tools and techniques
  • Tailors message to specific audience level
  • Guides the effective application and integration of LEAN implementation
  • Leads and facilitates complex and high visibility process improvement efforts
  • Develops an integrated strategy and assists with its strategic deployment
  • Leads and facilitates the improvement and standardization of enterprise policies and procedures
  • Assesses business capability and capacity
  • Represents the LEAN improvements function in Program reviews

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 5+ years of experience implementing lean principles, to include identifying opportunities and making recommendations for value stream improvements that resulted in improved business position through culture transformation.
  • 5+ years of experience planning and facilitating Lean+ workshops (e.g., BPSM /AIW / 3P / Kaizen / VSM, Process Mapping, AIW, DK)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Project management certification
  • Knowledge and application of the Boeing Production System (BPS)
  • Previous experience with business case development, stakeholder alignment, benefits capture, institutionalization, and continuous improvements

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $124,950 - $169,050.
