The Role:
The successful candidate will be a seasoned supply chain professional with experience in both material office and floor operations. You will be responsible for leading a team of individuals to optimize our supply chain operations at our VAA, LOC, and manufacturing facilities.
The Shop Director will be responsible for developing operational plans in support of the organization's strategies with a direct impact on achieving business unit results (SPQRCE).
What You'll Do (Responsibilities) :
- Drive the implementation of Lean Material Strategies (LMS) to support world class material Hours Per Unit performance.
- Lead Value Added Assembler (VAA) & Logistic Optimization Center (LOC) cost reduction initiatives including footprint optimization.
- Work with the sites and the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) organization to ensure readiness of VAA and LOC operations.
- Partner with ME and the Optimization team to develop and execute the automation strategy for material handling.
- Manage the implementation of Supply Chain best practices across manufacturing sites.
- Support manufacturing sites in the execution of Business Planning and attainment of key performance metrics (safety, quality, productivity, throughput, cost etc.).
- Support launch readiness through Manufacturing Quality Reediness Reviews.
- Partner with Area Shop Directors, Mfg. Engineering, and Program teams to develop action plans that support attainment of top quartile metrics and LTP commitments.
- Work with sites to develop and execute Manufacturing Excellence Index (MEI) gap closure plans.
- Lead through teaching operating requirements and serves as Short Lead Time principal lead for regional activities.
- Function as a Lead calibrator for supply chain calibration activities.
- Assist Global Quality in providing Supply Chain guidance for Global Read Across quality concerns.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelors in Science Engineering or equivalent operations experience
- 5-7 years of experience leading Supply Chain operations in a manufacturing environment
- 5-7 years of experience in Material Office and Floor Operations
- High level of analytical ability, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with team members and customers to solve and resolve problems and issues.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple people/projects and assignments with a high level of autonomy and accountability.
