Job Responsibilities:
The Lean Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational efficiency. This role focuses on implementing Lean principles, standardization, and data-driven improvements to support stable, efficient, and cost effective production processes in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The base line is the Mafact.
Responsibilities:
Supports Magna Operational Principles and Employee Charter criteria within context and position's scope of work supports EBM's ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, IATF System, as well as Magna Safety and Magna Environmental Program requirements
- Lead and support Lean initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, waste reduction)
- Identify and eliminate non value added activities
- Drive improvements in productivity, efficiency, and cost
- Analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities
- Monitor KPIs such as OEE, cycle time, scrap, and labor efficiency
- Develop and track action plans based on data insights
- Support line balancing and workflow optimization
- Improve material flow and layout efficiency
- Reduce bottlenecks and improve throughput
- Develop and implement standardized work
- Ensure process consistency and repeatability
- Support visual management and shop floor organization
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance
- Support problem-solving activities (PSW)
- Participate in audits and continuous improvement reviews
- Train employees on Lean principles and tools
- Promote continuous improvement culture across the plant
- Facilitate Kaizen events and workshops
- Communicate effectively across departments
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, AIAG MSA, Control Plans, and PFMEA requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on measurement system robustness and fixture reliability.
- Support and enforce compliance with IATF standards and ISO 14001 procedures.
- Promote a safe and healthy work environment for employees, contractors, and visitors
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing or continuous improvement
- Experience supporting production or process related activities
- Exposure to automotive or high volume production preferred
- Statistics
- Experience supporting Lean initiatives or Kaizen events
- Proven ability to lead and guide technical personnel.
- Excellent attention to detail and data integrity.
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, VSM)

Education:
- High School Diploma required
