As the Aerospace Lean Continuous Improvement Manager, you will lead and drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives within aerospace production and operations. You will focus on enhancing operational efficiency, reducing waste, improving quality, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement aligned with aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements. This is an onsite role in our Sylmar, CA. facility and you will report to the Plant Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and sustain lean manufacturing strategies and continuous improvement programs across aerospace production lines and support functions.
Lead cross-functional teams to identify process inefficiencies, waste, and bottlenecks, and implement solutions using lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, supply chain, and production teams to ensure alignment of continuous improvement initiatives with goals and aerospace compliance standards (e.g., AS9100).
Facilitate development programs to build lean capabilities and continuous improvement mindset among employees at all levels.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, quality, cost reduction, and delivery performance.
Promote standardization of best practices and sustainment of improvements through documentation, audits, and regular reviews.
Support new product introductions and process changes by applying lean principles to increase workflows and reduce cycle times.
Participate in problem-solving activities related to production issues, quality concerns, and operational challenges.
Champion a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement in compliance with aerospace industry regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
US Person-must be eligible to obtain a DoD Clearance
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or operational excellence roles within the aerospace or a highly regulated manufacturing industry.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, tools, and methodologies.
Experience with aerospace quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., AS9100, FAA regulations).
Project management skills.
Proficiency with data analysis tools and software (e.g., Minitab, Excel, ERP systems).

Salary Range $160,000-$175,000 plus annual bonus
