GEICO is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Researcher, UX Research. As the Lead Researcher, you will have a critical role in shaping the user experience of our products and services by utilizing insightful research and data-driven insights.

This position is a hybrid role that requires to be on-site 3 days a week at one of the following locations: Chevy Chase, MD; Chicago, IL; Fredericksburg, VA

Job Responsibilities:

· Provide strategic leadership and guidance to a team of quantitative and qualitative researchers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Provide oversight of Designers who are conducting evaluative research projects. Set clear goals, define research methodologies, and ensure the team's work meets quality standards and timelines.

· Build and grow a top-performing research team by attracting, recruiting, and retaining talented individuals. Foster a diverse, inclusive team culture that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and engineers, to deliver research insights aligned with business goals. Identify research opportunities and inform Principal Researchers with roadmap updates for executing research studies. Proactively ensure studies are prioritized.

· Oversee and participate in all phases of the user research process, including user recruitment, study design, data collection, analysis, and reporting. Utilize various qualitative and quantitative research methods, such as usability testing, surveys, interviews, and competitive analysis, to gain deep insights into user needs and behaviors.

· Analyze research data, identify patterns, and generate actionable insights that drive informed design decisions. Communicate research findings to stakeholders clearly and compellingly through reports, presentations, and interactive workshops.

· Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to advocate for user-centered design principles. Act as a strategic partner, providing valuable insights and recommendations throughout the product development lifecycle.

· Stay current with the latest research methodologies, tools, and industry trends. Continuously evaluate and improve research practices, ensuring the team has the right resources and techniques to deliver impactful results.

Basic Qualifications:

· 8+ years of experience in research.

· 8+ years of experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including usability testing, surveys, interviews, and ethnographic research.

· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience in research.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Strong expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, including usability testing, surveys, interviews, and ethnographic research.

· Proficient in data analysis and visualization tools, such as PowerBI or Tableau.

· Have a solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.

· Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex research findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

· Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive user-centric design decisions.


 

Annual Salary

$127,000.00 - $207,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
