About Us
Research, Design, and Development (RDD) is Dyson’s engine room. It’s where our engineers challenge convention, build, test, fail, refine, and fail again—all to invent technology that solves the problems others ignore.
Based in our RDD Centre at the heart of Shenzhen, you will join a global team delivering groundbreaking, trailblazing technologies to the world. Our team focuses heavily on collaborative innovation, working closely with external strategic partners to develop the core technologies—the very "organs"—that power our next generation of products.
About the Role
As a Lead Technology Engineer, you will hit the ground running on live, high-impact projects. You will take complete ownership of your deliverables within a larger global team while working directly alongside external strategic partners. In this role, you will explore, evaluate, and optimize pioneering engineering solutions while supporting, mentoring, and coaching junior team members and working with your peers in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and China.
Key Responsibilities
· Solution Engineering: Generate, explore, and recommend advanced solutions at a technology level using a mix of analytical, numerical, and experimental methods.
· Partner & Technology Management: Collaborate closely with external partners to co-develop and pave the way for immediate and future pipeline technologies across our product portfolio.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to develop cutting-edge capabilities that seamlessly integrate into product-level features.
· Prototyping & Testing: Lead hands-on prototyping activities and design/execute rigorous test methods to validate and verify your engineering solutions.
· Requirements & Documentation: Capture and document precise technical requirements, including Bills of Specifications (BoS), design documents, CAD models, and engineering drawings.
· Lifecycle Support: Provide crucial engineering support for ongoing production, troubleshoot complex issues, introduce new variants, and drive reliability and cost-saving improvements.
About You
You are a proactive, hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and isn't afraid to challenge conventional thinking. You possess razor-sharp analytical problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and the leadership traits necessary to drive technical packages forward. You are proficient in both English and Mandarin.
Qualifications & Experience

What We Do
At Dyson we are focused on solving the problems that others have ignored; solving them first using our technology and ingenuity. In order to achieve this we need to pioneer technologies that are different and authentic. This is the core of what we do and who we are. We must strive to create the future, every single day by developing new things, different things, things that go against the grain with a diverse and global team of ingenious minds. Dyson employs over 14,000 people and is present in more than 80 countries. And while we are growing fast we want Dyson to remain a start-up in spirit with the freedom of experimentation and learning, constantly reinventing our products as well as reinventing how we work, how we sell and how we support our owners. At the same time we are working through the James Dyson Foundation, James Dyson Award and Dyson Institute to inspire future engineers and pioneering a new approach to engineering education. Underlining everything we do in this diverse environment is the need to always show respect, supporting each other as one team to overcome whatever challenges we encounter. We drive empowerment, development and equality in an inclusive environment for our people around the world. The future doesn’t just happen, we look to make it happen, to achieve leaps through pioneering new ideas
