The Role
Avalanche Studios Group is currently in search of a skilled and enthusiastic Lead Technical Designer to work on an unannounced AAA title. Avalanche Studios is the division dedicated to ambitious, externally published, AAA open-world games like the Just Cause series, Mad Max, and Rage 2. As a Lead Technical Designer your role in the project involves solving challenges related to big action gameplay in an open world adventure. You apply your experience as a people-manager to contribute to well structured work flows and a professional culture. Your structured approach to problem solving is essential for realising exciting gameplay experiences built on scalable solutions. You have a track record of defeating visual script spaghetti monsters while arming your colleagues with the processes and understanding to ensure stable work flows and efficient tools.
What you'll do:
- Contribute to the design & development of game mechanics, interactions, and systems
- Champion well structured, scalable, solutions to technical design challenges
- Help coordinate technical design efforts across the project
- Provide regular 1 to 1 discussions with other designers on the project
- Contribute to an inclusive & collaborative design culture
Who you are:
- Have years of experience within the games industry with multiple shipped projects
- Have had people management experience and enjoys helping others grow their skillsets
- Committed to creating high-quality, stable, and efficient software
- Skilled with game engine editors and knowledgeable in scripting languages

The Stockholm location
Our Stockholm office is situated in Södermalm, the beating heart of the city’s game industry. It’s a physical representation of our games – the lush vegetation of Just Cause and theHunter: Call of the Wild meets corroded metal straight out of Mad Max. It has everything you need to make it your creative base camp.
