The AT Performance, Operability and Methods group within the Systems Engineering department is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to lead a team to modernize, enhance, and consolidate our Performance and Operability tools and processes. The position provides the individual with an opportunity to interface with performance, operability and controls analysts for engines and APU product lines, component design teams, testing, and experts in the systems engineering groups. Diverse technical and project management skills are needed to create, modernize, and implement tools, methods, and infrastructure.
ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead development and modernization initiatives of Performance and Operability tool including FAST
- Work closely with internal customers and global teams to support engine development programs for performance and operability design and analysis objectives
- Lead program, budget planning and advocacy and interface with Capital team
- Drive the development and implementation of strategies in support of the System Modeling vision and objectives
- Responsible for working with cross-functional technical teams, associated Enterprise project engineers, Product chiefs and global resources
- Conceive and lead continuous process improvement projects
- Champion group efforts to supply world class customer satisfaction to the Enterprise customers through formulating strategic plans, developing advanced innovative processes, program support, and technical leadership.
- Incorporate Agile principles in tool development and enhancements
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
Minimum of 6 years’ experience in similar roles and responsibilities

- Demonstrated expertise in FAST, MatLab and Simulink
- Demonstrated ability in thermodynamic cycle, transient and control modeling related to gas turbine engines
- Demonstrated ability of tools and processes development and software validation for Performance and Operability specific tools
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage development initiatives across a diverse and global cross-functional team
- Experience in software programming languages (such as Fortran, C++, PERL, Python, VBA, etc), Linux and Window operating systems
- Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices
- Effective communication skills
