Lead Strategic Sourcing Spec

As a Lead Strategic Sourcing Specialist at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in driving the procurement of materials and services in alignment with business guidelines. You will be responsible for establishing and executing procurement strategies to achieve the lowest total cost, reduced working capital, and ensure supply continuity.

You will report directly to Director Strategic Sourcing in our Monterrey NL, Mexico facilities in a hybrid work scheme.
In this role, you will impact the organization by leveraging your expertise in procurement processes to enhance supplier relationships, optimize costs, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Your leadership in the category of Professional/Engineering services will be vital in achieving projects procurement objectives and driving continuous improvement across the organization.
 

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for the Professional/Engineering services category, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategic sourcing practices.
• Develop and execute corporate and SBG categories and supplier strategies into Honeywell Projects Business globally, enabling supplier rationalization, supply continuity risk mitigation, and migration of spend to preferred suppliers while delivering sustainable value, including Pre & Post Award Productivity and working capital improvement.
• Develop and manage relationships with Professional/Engineering services  suppliers that meet established business requirements and follow the global commodity strategies.
• Negotiate and follow up on supply agreements completion and execution to maximize benefit to Honeywell.
• Perform periodic audits with selected suppliers to ensure compliance with procurement requirements, processes, and policies in alignment with business priorities.
• Follow up on the actions from the audits, build plans, and develop a roadmap for strategic partnerships.
• Support achievement of Projects Procurement AOPs Targets through sourcing strategies such as HGR sourcing, supplier base consolidation, sole source elimination, and value engineering. Help achieve the lowest total cost, continuous quality improvement, and on-time delivery, ensuring the COE strategy exists across the enterprise and around the world.
• Drive the selection of proper contracting strategies, contractually protecting Honeywell's intellectual and indemnity interests, enforcing contract compliance, and using competitive practices.
• Actively participate in leadership meetings with SBG Projects Engineering & Estimating leadership to drive strategic initiatives, early engagement, and collaborative teamwork.
• Partner with COE sourcing partners and Honeywell Projects cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment and support of COE strategy creation and execution.

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in business, supply chain management, engineering
• Experience in Strategic Sourcing or Category/Commodity Sourcing
• Very good knowledge and experience in handling international contract management with suppliers, including guarantees and liabilities to protect our interests.
• Strong knowledge of procurement strategies, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management.
• Ability to travel up to 15%, including supplier visits.
• Strong Root Cause Analysis, Problem Solving, and Leadership Communication skills.
• Experience developing and meeting business requirements of internal and external customers.
• Strong comprehensive technical knowledge of our supply base, knowledge of acquisition planning, negotiations, and agreement/contract administration.
