About the Role:

The Lead Software Engineer is a senior individual contributor who helps define and uphold engineering standards across JSX’s technology organization. This role provides technical leadership through mentorship, architectural guidance, and hands-on development. You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing software solutions. This position also plays a key role in evaluating and implementing practical AI-enabled capabilities that enhance Customer experiences, operational efficiency, and developer productivity.

This role is based at JSX Headquarters in Dallas, TX and is required to be in-office 4 days/week. 

A Day in the Life:

Your day will be collaborative and technically hands-on, centered on designing scalable solutions, mentoring peers, and delivering high-quality software that powers JSX’s digital ecosystem. Additional responsibilities include:

• Defining and advocating for engineering best practices related to code quality, testing strategies, CI/CD, and architectural patterns.
• Reviewing technical designs and pull requests to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance standards are met.
• Mentoring junior and mid-level engineers to elevate team capability and technical maturity.
• Designing and building modern software solutions across web, mobile, and backend platforms.
• Partnering with Product Owners, UX/UI, and QA teams to deliver features aligned with sprint commitments.
• Contributing to system architecture decisions with a focus on cloud-native services, microservices patterns, and API integrations.
• Identifying opportunities to leverage AI tools, automation workflows, or LLM-based capabilities to improve business outcomes.
• Evaluating third-party platforms and AI services with attention to security, privacy, observability, and cost management.
• Collaborating across teams to translate business needs into practical and scalable technical solutions.

Required Education & Experience:

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with increasing technical responsibility.
• Strong proficiency across modern web, mobile, and backend technologies (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Angular, Flutter, Node.js, Java, C#).
• Experience designing cloud-native architectures and working within microservices-based environments (AWS preferred).
• Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• Experience integrating AI/ML services, working with LLM-based tools or APIs, or delivering intelligent automation capabilities.
• Understanding of AI implementation considerations including prompt design, privacy, monitoring, security, and responsible usage.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Experience working within airline, aviation technology, or e-commerce environments.
• Exposure to large-scale customer-facing digital platforms.

Pay & Perks:

Compensation is $135,000 - $150,000/annually. This was established after performing market research and is aligned with our approach to compensation.
