You'll be joining our dynamic Video Collaboration (VC) team, a high-energy group at the forefront of designing products that power modern meeting spaces, from huddle rooms to global conference setups. This role is for a Lead Android Framework & API Engineer who will design and implement Android framework features and system services that enable high-performance video collaboration devices. You will work primarily at the framework layer, focusing on APIs, middleware, and services used by partner applications such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet. You will collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and QA teams to ensure seamless end-to-end integration.

• Design, implement, and maintain robust Android framework features and system services.

• Build and optimize APIs and middleware components that enable partner applications and device functionality.

• Work closely with application teams to integrate partner app requirements using Android framework services.

• Debug framework-level issues, analyze logs, and optimize performance within the Android framework layer.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, and QA teams to ensure device-level features work seamlessly.

• Mentor and provide technical guidance on Android framework best practices within the team.

Key Qualifications:
For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:​

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Android framework development and system service design.

• Strong proficiency in Java and Kotlin, with knowledge of concurrency patterns (coroutines, flows).

• Experience designing and implementing Android Services, Intents, AIDL, and IPC.

• Familiarity with Android SDK and framework-layer components, including ActivityManager, CameraManager, DisplayManager, and other system services.

• Some exposure to native layers (C/C++) is helpful but not the primary focus.

• Excellent debugging, analytical, and performance optimization skills within the framework layer.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience integrating with video/audio partner apps like Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet.

• Knowledge of Jetpack libraries, Android application lifecycle, and framework best practices.

• Exposure to WebRTC or Chromium WebView integration is a plus but not required.
