Who You'll Work With
You'll be a senior technical voice on Nike's Marketing Technology Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform team — a group building the backbone of Nike's global content supply chain. You will partner with engineering managers, product managers, and architects across the Martech organization to define the technical direction of DAM services, mentor engineers, and ensure the platform scales to meet the demands of Nike's global marketing operations.
Who We Are Looking For
As a Tech Lead for the Digital Asset Management platform, you set the technical north star for the team. You are a hands-on engineer who leads by example as writing production code, driving architectural decisions, and raising the bar on engineering quality. Your leadership is built on deep technical credibility, not formal authority. You are skilled at breaking down complex, ambiguous problems into executable engineering plans. You establish patterns, review designs, and coach engineers through challenging technical problems. You work in close partnership with the engineering manager, owning the technical dimension while your manager handles team health, delivery, and people operations.
You are energized by the challenge of building highly scalable, observable, and resilient systems in a fast-moving product environment. You keep up with the GenAI landscape and translate emerging capabilities into practical improvements for the DAM platform and developer experience.
In addition to the requirements described above, successful candidates will exhibit the following:
7-10 years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems
Proven track record as a technical lead or principal engineer on a product platform team
Deep expertise in Java/Spring Boot and cloud-native microservices architecture
Strong experience with event-driven architectures and API design at scale
Hands-on AWS expertise (ECS, SQS/SNS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, and related services)
Experience with Digital Asset Management systems, media workflows, or content supply chain platforms (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers at SE2 and SE3 levels
What You'll Work On
You will own the technical vision and architecture of Nike's DAM platform, enabling scalable ingestion, storage, transformation, and distribution of digital assets across global markets and marketing channels.
Your responsibilities will include:
Defining and evolving the technical architecture of DAM platform services, APIs, and data models
Leading system design reviews and setting architectural standards across the engineering team
Writing and reviewing production-quality code; staying hands-on with critical platform components
Identifying and driving platform-wide improvements in performance, reliability, and observability
Partnering with product and platform teams to translate complex business needs into sound technical solutions
Mentoring SE2 and SE3 engineers through design discussions, code reviews, and pair programming
Establishing engineering best practices, patterns, and tooling to accelerate team velocity
Evaluating and integrating GenAI/AI-powered capabilities into DAM workflows and developer tooling
Acting as a technical liaison between the DAM team and adjacent platform or infrastructure teams
Driving resolution of critical production incidents and leading post-incident reviews
