The Role

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer who is passionate about leveraging product insights to uncover trends through innovative analysis, advanced machine learning, artificial intelligence models, and optimized engineering processes. In this role you will lead a team who partners across the business to empower partner teams with insights into the performance and behavior of their services, applications, and products to ultimately enhance customer experience.
Engineering Services designs, builds, and sustains technology that powers DE&E Technology's worldwide content production and distribution platforms. In doing so, they contribute to a series of cross-functional services and technologies, including Quality Assurance, Data Analytics, Software Development, Broadcast Infrastructure, and Networking & Security.

Responsibilities;

  • Lead a team of engineers responsible for performing analysis and building applications ensuring a successful consumer experience via production engineering processes to inform end user customer experience and intelligence on the health of our applications, clients, products and offerings.
  • Own and contribute to engineering solutioning of complex model scoring, quality scoring and model deployment, including road mapping with an emphasis on ensuring high quality engineering processes, sufficient business impact and scalability across all practices.
  • Design and build robust software applications, utilizing software engineering and machine learning expertise to deliver high performance solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and engineering, to identify opportunities, business impact and technical requirements.
  • Act in people supervisory capacity and serve as a technical leader, setting best practices and leading architectural discussions within the team.
  • Mentor, empower, and provide career growth opportunities for team members.
  • Prioritize tasks within a project to deliver high value initiatives, while anticipating and mitigating potential risk wherever possible.
  • Create and manage key engineering health KPIs through regular monitoring in a scalable way as systems and products expand.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in engineering or data as a software engineering, data scientist, analyst or similar discipline diligently applying principles, practices, planning and theory for backlog and project delivery.
  • 6+ years of Python, Spark, or Pyspark or similar programming language.
  • 2+ years of experience managing a team.
  • High familiarity with data platforms and applications such as Databricks, Jupyter, Snowflake, Redshift, Airflow.
  • Applied experience of frameworks like PyTorch, Keras, Tensorflow, etc.
  • Experience operating in an SDLC environment and deploying production engineering models and code.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills, able to concisely synthesize complex technical information. Able to communicate anywhere from the team level to C-level executives.
  • Strong sense of ownership over deliverables, as this role will have end-to-end responsibilities for certain production engineering processes.
  • Experience Agile methodologies and using tools such as Jira to track and perform ceremonies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with data platforms such as MySQL, Datadog, Conviva.
  • Knowledge of API design and microservices architecture.
  • Experience in the streaming industry, knowledge of client and server-side architecture is a plus.


The hiring range for this position in Pennsylvania is $142,200 - $190,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
The hiring range for this position in New York or Seattle is $156,300 to $209,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
