As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Chief Technology Office team, you will deliver innovative data and insights products that empower our business. You will work collaboratively in Agile sprint-based teams, building applications that support technical governance and reference data platforms. Job responsibilities
- Deliver software solutions in Agile sprint-based teams
- Build and maintain asset management, technical governance, or reference-data-driven platforms
- Develop and integrate REST APIs, SQL, and data-intensive applications
- Design and implement ETL processes, data pipelines, and cross-system feeds
- Create UI dashboards, reports, and insight-oriented features
- Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
- Develop backend services, workflow logic, and user-facing components
- Apply strong testing, debugging, and production support practices
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Experience delivering software in Agile sprint-based teams
- Strong understanding of asset management, technical governance, or reference-data-driven platforms
- Hands-on experience with REST APIs, SQL, and data-intensive application development
- ETL / ingestion and data pipeline thinking, including schema/data handling and cross-system feeds
- Experience building UI dashboards, reports, and insight-oriented features
- Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices
- Ability to build across backend services, workflow logic, and user-facing components
- Strong testing, debugging, and production support mindset
