As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Technology you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.


 
Job Responsibilities 
 
  • Build creative software solutions by thinking beyond conventional approaches to design, develop, and troubleshoot effectively.
  • Deliver end-to-end cloud-native applications using microservices architectures, modern technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Apply domain modeling techniques to create best-in-class business products that are clear, testable, and easy to evolve.
  • Write secure, high-quality production code and ensure engineering standards are met.
  • Review and debug others’ code to improve reliability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Identify recurring issues and automate remediation to improve operational stability across applications and systems.
  • Investigate and resolve issues promptly and implement fixes that prevent resurfacing.
  • Continuously modernize technologies and patterns to keep systems current and reduce technical debt.
  • Design for scalability and resilience by avoiding single points of failure and using proven architectural patterns.
  • Enable zero-downtime releases and optimize data performance through reliable, secure, and scalable solution design.
  • Lead communities of practice and strengthen team culture by driving adoption of leading-edge technologies.

 
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 
 
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, including system design, application development, testing, and operational support.
  • Design and deliver end-to-end cloud-native, microservices-based solutions using modern technologies and industry best practices.
  • Apply domain modeling to build best-in-class business products with clear, testable, and evolvable software design.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code; review and debug code written by others to maintain engineering standards.
  • Drive operational excellence by promptly investigating and resolving issues, preventing recurrence, and automating remediation of recurring problems to improve stability.
  • Architect for scalability, reliability, and performance by avoiding single points of failure, enabling zero-downtime releases, and optimizing data performance using modern patterns.
  • Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologies.
  • Proficiency in back-end technologies (e.g., Python, Flask, Django) with experience building microservices-based applications; for full-stack roles, proficiency also includes front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript, React, Angular).
