The Opportunity

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to guide the design, development and deployment of AI‑ and data‑driven products that power Massive Bio’s clinical trial matching and drug‑utilization capabilities. You will manage a team of developers, collaborate with data scientists and product managers and ensure our platforms are scalable, secure and reliable.

Responsibilities
  • Technical leadership: Own the architecture and technical roadmap for AI‑enabled data products. Design and implement event pipelines, microservices, APIs and model‑scoring services consistent with DUO’s technical requirements.

  • Hands‑on development: Lead by example, writing high‑quality, maintainable code and contributing to end‑to‑end development of web and mobile applications.

  • Data pipelines & AI integration: Collaborate with data engineers and ML scientists to build pipelines that ingest, process and surface clinical, genomic and operational datasets; support training and deployment of AI/LLM models while maintaining strict consent lineage and HIPAA/GDPR compliance.

  • Team mentorship: Mentor and grow a team of mid‑level developers; conduct code reviews; establish engineering standards; foster a culture of innovation, accountability and continuous learning.

  • Cross‑functional collaboration: Partner with product managers and clinical experts to translate business needs into technical requirements; ensure alignment with privacy, security and quality standards.

  • Stakeholder communication: Communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and influence decision‑making across the organization.

Candidate Profile
  • Experience: 7+ years of software development experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.

  • Technical skills: Strong proficiency in Python/PHP and related frameworks; experience with RESTful APIs; solid understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL); familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).

  • AI & data: Demonstrated experience integrating machine‑learning models into production systems and working with data‑engineering pipelines; familiarity with large‑language‑models and natural‑language processing is a plus.

  • Software craftsmanship: Commitment to clean, maintainable code; experience with version control (Git), Agile development and continuous integration.

  • Leadership: Ability to mentor and motivate engineers; strong stakeholder‑management skills; track record of driving measurable improvements.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline; advanced degrees are advantageous.

  • Communication: Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal) to participate in international collaboration.

  • Location: Based in Istanbul(Kozyatağı) with a hybrid schedule.
