The Role
The Lead Silicon Architect will design and implement next-generation Accelerated Compute Fabric chips while collaborating with silicon teams and other divisions. The role entails defining architecture specifications, driving technology development, product definition, and managing engineering resources to innovate silicon technology in a competitive market.
Summary Generated by Built In
Enfabrica is at the forefront of building cutting edge networking silicon and system software to drive the revolution in AI and accelerated computing infrastructure at scale. The Lead Silicon Architect role will drive architecture/microarchitecture definition and specification, tradeoffs, modeling, and drive the deliverables needed for design and implementation of our next generation Accelerated Compute Fabric chip.
Qualifications
- Extensive prior experience with chip design is a must, as this role will work closely with the silicon team to define the appropriate requirements, constraints, and detailed specifications for implementation. Must have coded substantial chip functionality in RTL during their career and been highly involved in understanding/assessing chip verification plans. Career spec writers or standards ambassadors are not what we are looking for.
- Deep technical understanding and data-driven problem solving across networking SOC functionality (Ethernet packet processing, traffic scheduling and buffering, congestion control), host interface and IPC functionality (e.g. over PCIe, ccNUMA, NVLink/XGMI, CCIX, socket interfaces, etc).
- Overall, excellent communications skills, strategic vision, and consensus-building are all key skillsets for this role.
- Candidates for this role must have a strong, multi-disciplinary technical background and the ability to drive results across organizational boundaries. Solid understanding of SW layers for high performance networking and communication stacks is highly desired.
- Technical leadership capacity with past projects showing a high level of planning, organization and attention to detail, and the ability to inspire engineers working on the chip.
- Track record of defining compelling and complex compute/networking SOCs and successfully driving the specification, development, and deployment of these products into the market.
- Strong skills in architecture exploration, development, specification, and trade-off analysis; expertise in architecture/microarchitecture modeling techniques is highly desired.
- Excellent, precise written and verbal technical communication
- MS or PhD degree in electrical/computer engineering, computer science, or related with at least 15 years industry experience in relevant comparable roles/companies
Responsibilities
- This role will report to the senior executive staff of the company
- The chosen candidate will be a leading technologist for the company and help drive the silicon technology roadmap
- The candidate will manage and contribute to the ASIC and system architecture and development for our next generation product(s)
- The candidate will interact closely with other leaders and teams within the division, including product marketing, silicon engineering, firmware/algorithms, board and systems engineering, customer engineering
- A key responsibility of this role is to help drive the appropriate product definition and technology development required to deliver a compelling next generation product within a compressed market window with finite engineering resources
- In addition, the successful candidate will drive new technology innovation and better silicon block and subsystem architectures for PPA and time to market
