Position: Lead QA Engineer

Job Summary: 

The Lead QA  Engineer is a higher-level role within the Quality Assurance team, responsible for driving the stability and efficiency of test automation frameworks and processes. This position requires advanced technical expertise, strategic problem-solving, and the ability to mentor team members. The Senior QA Lead Engineer will ensure the quality of Switchfly’s products by refining frameworks, improving automation, and leading efforts to enhance quality across the software development lifecycle. 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Maintain and evolve Switchfly’s automation frameworks to align with industry best practices, ensuring high reliability and usability.
• Identify and eliminate duplicate implementations and overhead code, optimizing frameworks for performance and maintainability.
• Develop solutions for automated testing across UI, mobile, and API platforms, including the design of Jenkins jobs for test execution.
• Lead the Automation SWAT initiative, ensuring stability and meeting SWAT goals.   
• Own and manage daily test automation reports, ensuring stable test environments and identifying areas for improvement. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues quickly and effectively. 
• Mentor and support QE team members, providing guidance on automation best practices and resolving technical roadblocks. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA engineers, developers, and business stakeholders, to drive quality across the organization. 
• Define and deliver trusted automation patterns and testing strategies to improve test reliability and relevance. 
• Support the broader team by sharing insights, training teams, and fostering knowledge-sharing. 

Required Skills/Abilities:  

• Expertise in designing and maintaining robust test automation frameworks. 
• Strong knowledge of UI, mobile, and API automation, including tools like Selenium and CI/CD pipelines. 
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and train teams on automation and quality practices. 
• Proven ability to lead automation initiatives and improve test stability and efficiency. 
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex automation challenges. 
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing. 

Education and Experience: 

• At least 5 years of experience in a QA Automation role. 
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 
• Experience in Agile environments, including implementing CI/CD automation strategies. 
• Proficient in API testing and test framework development. 

Physical Requirements:  

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
