- Support the development and validation of dynamic and multivariable process models.
- Analyze plant step-test data to determine process gains, dead times, dynamics, and variable interactions.
- Support the development of inferential/soft sensors for process variables where physical analyzers are unavailable.
- Review APC model performance and recommend model and controller improvements.
- Work closely with APC engineers to ensure models accurately represent actual plant behavior.
- Identify process equipment performance limitations and operating constraints.
- Review existing regulatory control strategies and identify opportunities for APC implementation.
- Support PID tuning, cascade, and ratio control strategy development.
- Review control loop performance and controller health.
- Define APC/DCS interface requirements, alarms, operating limits, and interlocks, coordinating with Instrumentation, Control, and DCS engineers for implementation.
- Review HMI/control graphics and operating procedures from a process perspective.
- Participate in FAT, SAT, site commissioning, plant step testing, and APC deployment.
- Validate APC models against actual plant behavior and support the transition from open-loop testing to closed-loop APC operation.
- Monitor APC KPIs and optimize controller and model performance.
- Troubleshoot process-related APC issues during commissioning and performance phases.
- Support customer training, technical documentation, and final project handover.
- Lead and coordinate process engineering activities across multidisciplinary project teams and client stakeholders.
To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:
Experience:
- 6–8 years of relevant process engineering experience.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in process optimization, APC, MPC, process control, or plant performance engineering is preferred.
