- Assist the operator in his/her work and assist in training operators on machine operations and quality inspections.
- Perform minor correction to equipment. Contact the area leader or proper support personnel to report machine or tooling problems.
- Responsible for the quality of parts produced in the area and reports any non-conforming parts to area leader and quality department.
- Reviews and updates main communication boards for operational problems.
- Fills out maintenance work orders and Support autonomous maintenance activities
- Performs daily audits of the work area for 5S and safety guards and verifies safety equipment is working.
- Communicates issues Production Manager.
- Participates in pre-shift Team Member Tier 1 meeting
- Conducts pre-shift meetings to review previous shift information regarding safety, quality, and productivity issues) at line board and TL checks that all pre-production safety, quality and productivity checks are completed by Team Members.
- Monitor and report hourly performance at the workstation, escalate issues in Tier 2 meetings, take action to support target achievement, and sustain/improve 5S standards.
- Fosters positive working relationships with all personnel of the division.
- Recommends proposals for improving products, processes, systems, and work environment through the continuous Improvement process and encourages employees to participate in the process as well.
- Support and improve Standardized Work through weekly observations, immediate corrective actions, and documentation; train Team Members using TWI Job Instruction; maintain current training matrix.
- Lead by example through strong attendance, performance, and positive behavior; motivate and manage the team by applying TWI (JR,JI), ensuring clear communication, constructive feedback, and effective conflict resolution.
- Follows the escalation process when equipment is down and safety, quality and productivity issues.
- Perform Layered Process Audits (LPA)
- Respond to all Andon’s per zone and coordinate the correct support group.
- TL or alternates fill in temporarily for Team Members that are absent (for some minutes) or need to leave the line and next level of leadership steps down to cover their responsibilities during this period.
- Prepare safety, quality and productivity communication information for next shift
- Participate in MAFACT Simulation Training to develop skills in continuous improvement and manufacturing excellence.
