Flink Robotics is a fast-paced startup backed by world-class VCs, originating from the Computational Robotics Lab at ETH Zurich. We’re building the autopilot for robotic material handling. It will power the next generation of plug-and-play robots that stack boxes in logistics centers, unload trucks or sort parcels.
We’re looking for a highly skilled and driven Lead ML Engineer to lead the design and development of our computer vision and robot autonomy stacks. You’ll architect the systems that bring real-world smarts to our robots, such that they can work in messy logistics environments.
Who you are
Eager to join a VC-backed startup in its early phases, ready to take on significant responsibility to help shape the company's future.
Excited to be hands-on and build a team at the same time.
You want to bring cutting-edge Machine Learning to life in complex production systems.
Passionate about plug-and-play, autonomous robots that merge AI with commercial applications.
What you bring
Extensive experience architecting models, training pipelines and serving infrastructure at scale.
Deep understanding of the end-to-end process of gathering and augmenting data, creating balanced training/validation/regression sets, studying the performance of different models and optimizing their quality.
Strong knowledge of C++ and Python.
Experience building, maintaining and improving production code.
MSc or PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline.
What you'll be doing
Lead the long-term AI roadmap for computer vision and robot autonomy stacks, aligning with company goals and product requirements.
Be hands-on while also overseeing the development of our AI/ML algorithms, geared towards real-world logistics environments.
Architect and implement our AI pipeline from data gathering, augmentation, management, model training, and inference infrastructure.
Build and lead a team of high-performing engineers by example!
Stay at the forefront of AI/ML research.
Work closely with robotics and field engineers to translate real-world problems to state-of-the-art ML solutions.
Guide the whole team through the full ML lifecycle, from experimentation and model training to deployment on embedded systems.
Uncover new opportunities throughout our product that can be made better or addressed through machine learning.
Benefits
This is your chance to join a fast-growing startup with an ambitious team, all on the mission to develop the next generation of intelligent machines. You’ll take the full journey, from early research to deploying your models on real robots, while growing and mentoring an AI team that’s just as driven as you are.
Competitive salary and equity participation.
Chance to take on meaningful responsibility from day 1 and help shape the company culture.
Collaborate with a team of experts and be part of an early-stage investor-backed startup.
Work in a central office in Zurich or partially remote.
Great team spirit in an agile environment.
Apply now, if you’re ready to push boundaries and help shape the future of robotics!
