Job Description
- As an Lead of Manufacturing engineering & Tooling engineering, you will be responsible for development , review and approval of process sequence, mould, jigs & fixture design for eVTOL airframes prototype manufacturing & assembly integration.The candidate will be responsible for optimisation of manufacturing processes for detail parts fabrication , sub-assembly& assembly, Interacting with vendors and cross functional teams in Process prove-out & tooling proveout.
Roles & responsibilities
The requirements for the Lead (Manufacturing Engineering & Tooling Engineering) role are as follows:
- Manufacturing processes & Tooling Development: Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes, including jigs, fixtures, ground support equipment, and inspection gauges. Create and maintain detailed work instructions, tooling specifications, and manufacturing bills of materials.
- Process Optimization & Troubleshooting: Optimize facility layouts, equipment selection, and commissioning. Lead troubleshooting for production issues to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and enhance yield.
- Vendor & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Manage relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance with aerospace standards. Define conditions of supply and audit supplier processes.
- Configuration & Project Management: Manage product/tooling development throughout the lifecycle. Coordinate technical design reviews, oversee configuration management, and ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Technical Expertise: Apply knowledge of bonding/fastening processes, CATIA V6/Enovia PLM, and GD&T to assess designs (DFM/DFA) and resolve technical challenges.
- Domain expertise: Composites manufacturing , Aircraft assembly processes, Tooling manufacturing processes, Sheet metal processes, CNC machining.
Requirements
Required Skills
- Technical Proficiency: CAD software (CATIA, NX, or SolidWorks), ERP & PLM systems, and knowledge of aircraft assembly processes and integration.
- Analytical & Management: Expertise in project management, cost analysis, quality control, prototyping, and supplier assessment.
- Foundational Knowledge: Lean Six Sigma, QMS, metrology, QC tools, and cost estimation/time study.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors and /or Masters degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related field.
- Experience: 8+ years of work experience in manufacturing engineering,Tooling engineering for Composites structures & assembly in Aerospace industries.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's and/or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering and tooling engineering for composite structures and assembly in the aerospace industry
- Proficiency with CAD software such as CATIA, NX, or SolidWorks
- Experience with ERP and PLM systems
- Knowledge of aircraft assembly processes and integration
- Expertise in project management, cost analysis, quality control, prototyping, and supplier assessment
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, QMS, metrology, quality-control tools, cost estimation, and time studies
