We're looking for an enthusiastic Lead Level Designer to join us in either Espoo or Barcelona! In this role, you'll go beyond daily execution to shape the quality bar, elevate our team's craft, and support the full lifecycle of our levels. You're a true multiplier: your work makes Angry Birds Friends better and helps the people around you grow every day.
Reporting directly to the Design Director, you'll care for a talented team of level designers, including permanent team members, interns, and contractors. You'll connect business goals with player happiness, understanding the unique strengths of your team to ensure everyone is supported and optimized to do their best work.
You will have impact and fun at work by:
Supporting and guiding a team of level designers, ensuring everyone feels empowered and tasks match their unique strengths.
Collaborating with our content producer and data teams to meet our weekly live content goals and keep our players delighted.
Predicting potential content shortages early and creating supportive mitigation plans so our players always have fresh levels to enjoy.
Defining clear frameworks for difficulty curves and power-up systems to reduce guesswork and help the team design with precision.
Nurturing the professional growth of junior, staff, and senior level designers through structured feedback and open sharing of your creative process.
Crafting and iterating on fresh levels yourself to understand our tools deeply and find collaborative ways to improve our workflows.
Reviewing daily player data to find thoughtful opportunities that improve level design while respecting both player experience and monetization.
Experience and skills we are looking for:
You have extensive years of level design experience, including several years of supporting and guiding a level design team.
You've successfully released frequent content updates for at least 2 free-to-play (F2P) live games.
You create unforgettable player moments and can easily share the craft and theory behind what makes a level genuinely fun.
You understand player behavior signals and enjoy collaborating with data teams to translate insights into cooperative design choices.
You feel comfortable navigating design challenges without clear precedents, working together with leadership to find the best pathways forward.
You are a proactive communicator who shares context openly and clears blockers before they impact the team.
