About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Java Engineer to join the Spread Technology team in Fixed Income, supporting asset classes such as Structured Products, Credit, and Municipal Bonds. This role is pivotal to the success of strategic initiatives Front Office Sales and Trading applications, and is designed for engineers who thrive in high-performance, front-to-back delivery environments. You will lead the design and development of low-latency Micro UIs and robust backend services, contributing to pricing and risk workflows. In this role, you will: Lead complex initiatives on selected domains Ensure systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost Lead, design, develop, test and implement applications and system components, tools and utilities, models, simulation, and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies Resolve coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature Lead team to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives Mentor less experienced software engineers Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers Lead team to achieve objectivesDesign low latency eTrading, pricing, and risk applications for Fixed Income asset classes such as Structured Products, Credit, and Municipal Bonds Implement low-latency, HTTP and WebSocket-based real-time micro UIs using JavaScript/Typescript, Angular, AgGrid, and other UI libraries Develop backend services using Java, Spring Framework, Kafka, and Ignite Utilize build tools such as Maven or Gradle and ensure code quality using SonarQube. Provide technical support and resolve issues related to supported applications Create test data and conduct interface and unit tests. Design, code, test, debug, and document programs using Agile development practices Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively Required Qualifications: 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education 3+ years of Capital Markets Fixed Income domain 3+ years of Bond Pricing, Bond Risk, Bond PnL, and Position Management 3+ years of experience in high-performance programming using Java or Python 3+ years of experience in full stack development using Angular/Typescript for front-end and Java with Spring Framework for back-end 3+ years of experience with Apache Kafka for messaging and stream processing Desired Qualifications: Experience using OpenShift / Kubernetes container platforms Experience designing and delivering cloud-native, microservices-oriented solutions at enterprise scale in financial services or regulated sectors Experience with test automation using tools such as Selenium.
