Lead - Java Developer

Job Summary

Synechron is seeking a highly skilled Java Developer to join our dynamic technology team. In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of innovative projects leveraging emerging technologies such as blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), and AI. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing business processes and delivering cutting-edge solutions that support our clients' strategic objectives. You will also mentor junior team members and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects aligned with the company's vision for technological advancement and industry leadership.

Software Requirements

• Required Software Skills:

  • Java (version 8 or higher) with extensive development experience

  • IDEs such as IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse

  • Version control tools, primarily Git

  • Build tools like Maven or Gradle

  • Containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) – preferred

• Preferred Software Skills:

  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

  • API development and integration tools

  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines

  • Microservices architecture and related tools

Overall Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end development and deployment of projects integrating emerging technologies to meet strategic business needs.

• Mentor and guide team members to ensure best practices, code quality, and timely project delivery.

• Evaluate, recommend, and implement innovative technology solutions to optimize workflows and business outcomes.

• Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and technical teams to align project goals with organizational strategies.

• Stay informed on industry trends and advancements to incorporate relevant innovations into ongoing projects.

• Maintain high standards of code quality, security, and performance across all deliverables.

• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing initiatives.

• Relational Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL (Required)

• Cloud-native development experience (Preferred)

Frameworks & Libraries:

• Spring Boot (Required)

• Hibernate (Required)

• MicroProfile, Quarkus (Preferred)

Development Tools & Methodologies:

• Version Control: Git (Required)

• Build Tools: Maven, Gradle (Required)

• Containerization: Docker (Preferred)

• Orchestration: Kubernetes (Preferred)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in software development roles with a focus on Java-based technologies.

• Proven track record of leading projects that utilize emerging technologies such as blockchain, AI, or IoT.

• Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring technical teams or junior developers.

• Experience working collaboratively across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

• Experience in startup, consulting, or enterprise environments is advantageous.

Day-to-Day Activities

• Manage the development, testing, and deployment of Java-based applications integrating emerging technologies.

• Provide technical mentorship and code reviews to team members to promote coding standards and best practices.

• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives as part of Agile workflows.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

• Evaluate new tools, frameworks, and technologies for applicability and benefit to ongoing and future projects.

• Document technical specifications and contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives.

• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Relevant professional certifications such as Java certifications, cloud certifications (AWS Certified Developer, Azure Developer Associate), or emerging tech certifications (Blockchain, AI/ML).

• Continuous learning mindset with participation in workshops, conferences, or online courses related to emerging technologies.
