As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorganChase within Employee Platforms, you own the packaging, validation, and release execution for Office client software across a global virtual and physical desktop estate.
In the Microsoft 365 Office Client Engineering space, you own the packaging, validation, and release execution for Office client software across a global virtual and physical desktop estate. You are accountable for getting validated updates and new capabilities onto the desktop safely, at scale, and on a predictable schedule. This is a hands-on engineering role with release accountability. You will build the test and deployment pipeline that turns a multi-week manual cycle into a repeatable run, define the ring strategy and go/no-go criteria that protect line-of-business add-ins and macros, and act as the technical escalation point with Microsoft. The environment is heavily customized and tightly controlled, so speed has to be earned through automation, evidence, and a rollback path that works.
Job Responsibilities
- Own engineering, deployment, patching, validation, and support of Office 365 Apps across enterprise desktop environments.
- Lead release planning and execution using pilot groups, deployment rings, quality gates, and rollback procedures.
- Automate deployment, testing, monitoring, and operational processes using scripting and infrastructure tools.
- Troubleshoot complex application and endpoint issues using logs, telemetry, and root-cause analysis.
- Serve as the technical escalation point for software releases, infrastructure incidents, and vendor support engagements.
- Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate infrastructure analysis and design documentation, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements.
- Partner with application, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure compatibility, compliance, and operational readiness.
- Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted practices within delivery and automation routines to identify recurring issues and validate remediation options, ensuring changes are traceable/auditable and aligned to resiliency and security expectations.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Deep experience with Microsoft Office 365 deployment, servicing, configuration, and support.
- Strong expertise with Microsoft Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM), Intune, and endpoint management technologies.
- Experience managing enterprise software releases, deployment governance, validation, and rollback planning.
- Proven troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills across endpoint and infrastructure platforms.
- Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
- Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalating when uncertain and ensuring outcomes align to resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.
- Deep knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and scripting languages.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI-enabled workplace technologies.
- Experience supporting Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop, or similar virtual desktop environments.
- Experience with application compatibility testing, add-ins, and enterprise software packaging.
- Experience using telemetry, monitoring, and analytics tools to drive release and operational decisions.
- Experience implementing automation that improves operational efficiency and reduces manual effort.
