As a Lead Full Stack Developer, you will be a domain expert in media workflow management systems in the cloud. You will lead the strategy in delivering system architecture and developing high-quality code for a product that processes media content to support the studio mastering operations team.
You will collaborate closely with business analysts, product managers, infrastructure engineering, and partner teams to implement new features and workflows to meet the growing demand for automating media workflows for studio operations teams.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Work with a team of software engineers to deliver high-quality software.
- Collaborate closely with Studios engineering teams to ensure the application is deployed effectively.
- Ensure delivery of a stable, scalable, and reliable system.
- Mentor team members on technical and quality-related concepts to drive overall product quality.
- Lead by example through your technical contributions to bootstrap your team's work.
- Collaborate with product managers and developers in a creative, open way to define acceptance criteria and development strategies.
- Use data to define metrics that provide visibility into product stability.
- Identify and drive improvements in engineering methodologies to ensure industry-leading system quality and team efficiency.
WHAT TO BRING:
- Minimum of 10 years of related work experience, preferably with 5+ years in a technical leadership role, leading/mentoring a team of 3+ engineers, and working with agile processes (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
- Experience with OpenJPEG image transcoding and MXF wrapping functionality for IMF and DCPs (2+ years required).
- Solid background in applications programming and full-stack application management.
- Strong programming skills in TypeScript/Node.js with at least 5 years in Node application development and 2+ years in TypeScript.
- Strong programming skills in PHP 5+ with at least 5 years in PHP Laravel application development.
- UX development experience in HTML, JavaScript, and ReactJS/TypeScript, with 5 years in ReactJS and 2+ years in ReactJS/TypeScript.
- Experience in Electron application development with React/TypeScript.
- Strong skills with RDBMS such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and document databases such as MongoDB.
- Experience with back-end test automation frameworks/tools.
- Proficiency with version control software (e.g., GitHub) and issue/project tracking software (e.g., Jira).
- Familiarity with software development/debugging tools (e.g., Postman, curl, Chrome DevTools).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using build/deploy tools (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Amazon Web Services, ElastiCache Redis, ElasticSearch, S3, RabbitMQ, SQS.
- Understanding of media workflows, including video, audio, subtitles, images, and handling large file transfers.
- Experience managing Amazon EKS clusters.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (e.g., whiteboarding/diagramming system behavior).
- Deep understanding of agile quality methodologies and tools with proven experience using them during the SDLC.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with software engineers and product owners to achieve high-quality results.
- Proven analytical skills, leadership, focus on the end-user, and collaboration.
- Strong time management skills.
NICE-TO-HAVES:
- Experience with C/C++.
- Experience with streaming playback of MPEG-DASH/HLS.
- Experience with media asset management systems.
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $184,300.00-$247,100.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
