Beyond our commercial impact, we are committed to expanding access to technology and supporting pro bono legal work.
WHAT WE DO
At Relativity, engineers do more than write code - they build systems that enable users to uncover insights from complex data at scale using cloud-native architecture, AI, and modern tools.
The Engineering Platform team enables engineering excellence across Relativity by building shared frameworks, developer tooling, and platform capabilities that improve scalability, consistency, and delivery velocity across products.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re seeking a Lead Frontend Software Engineer to join the Engineering Platform team at Relativity. In this role, you’ll drive the direction of our frontend architecture, lead implementation of shared UI frameworks and design systems, and mentor engineers while solving complex frontend challenges at scale.
This is a technical leadership role focused on platform-wide impact, designing modular, performant, and maintainable UI infrastructure that powers a modern cloud-native application ecosystem. You’ll collaborate with architects, Staff Engineers, and product teams to evolve our Micro Frontend architecture and enable high-quality, accessible, and intelligent user experiences across products.
You’ll be working in a fast-moving but stable environment where initiative, clarity, and action are highly valued, and your leadership directly enables hundreds of engineers to move faster and build better.

Job Description and Requirements

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Set and communicate technical vision for frontend architecture across multiple platform teams.

  • Lead the development of shared UI infrastructure, design system components, and micro frontend integration strategies using React, TypeScript, and PrimeReact.

  • Partner with product, UX, and engineering leadership to define and deliver scalable frontend capabilities aligned to customer needs and business outcomes.

  • Guide the team on best practices in accessibility, performance, test automation, and maintainability.

  • Drive technical excellence through architectural reviews, pair programming, mentoring, and hands-on development.

  • Contribute to and evolve CI/CD workflows, component versioning strategies, and documentation processes.

  • Champion frontend performance techniques including lazy loading, code splitting, asset optimization, and telemetry.

  • Define and enforce standards for UI testing, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using Jest, Cypress, or Playwright.

  • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, strengthening technical leadership across the team.

  • Lead initiatives exploring AI-enhanced UI/UX, including smart component behavior, generative layout patterns, and adaptive interfaces.
