In this role, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and enhancing the automation used to validate Orbit 60 firmware. You will work independently with multiple teams across the globe to ensure a high quality of code.
 

As a Lead Firmware Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining robust automation systems integrating hardware, firmware and software.
  • Working with sustaining and New Product engineering teams to develop and improve automation.
  • Working with and coordinate automation related procedures with engineering teams.
  • Reducing risk and promote sustainability by utilizing and driving standardization and reusability.
  • Provide quality feedback to the development teams.
  • Driving the direction of the firmware automation and its capabilities.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related engineering discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in testing or validation, using C# programming language or similar (Java, C++, or other OOP).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Batch, Perl, Python, etc.)
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
  • Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills.
  • Proven analytical and organizational ability.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience working with Microsoft ALM suite (Visual Studio, Azure DevOps/TFS, CI/CD pipelines)
  • Practical knowledge and experience working within an AGILE development environment
  • High energy, results driven team-player with strong interpersonal skills and a quality mind-set
  • Able to work well with global teams, including time-zone flexibility
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuit components and operation.
  • Expertise and knowledge of test-driven development concepts.
  • Experience in embedded systems and or programming object-oriented code.
  • Experience using software debugging tools; emulators, debuggers, etc.
  • Experience using hardware debugging tools; oscilloscopes, multi-meters, function generators, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex ideas to various audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and drive process improvements.
  • Fast learner with energy and enthusiasm.

The annual pay scale for this position is between $85,700.00 - $159,100.00.

Candidates for this role (office-based/ hybrid/ remote) must be located in or near the locations displayed above. The pay range/scale displayed above represents Baker Hughes’ good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum for this position at the time of this posting and applies to the possible locations for this position. Baker Hughes will issue a non-bias competitive offer; the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hires, full-time salaries in some U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits. Where an applicant will ultimately fall within the pay range/scale depends on a variety of factors, including, for example, geographic work location, skillset, qualifications, internal pay alignment, level of experience, and demonstrated performance over time. Please keep in mind that the range stated above is the full base salary range for the role and does not include other forms of compensation.
