The Role
Reporting to the Lead, ERP Functionals, you will serve as the functional owner and subject-matter authority for all financial systems across Mars Snacking Accelerator. You will lead financial systems strategy, establish multi-year capability roadmaps, directly line-manage the Finance Functional Analyst, and own the strategic and operational integration between Accelerator’s SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud and the Mars enterprise Central Finance (CFIN) platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Core FI & Banking Execution: Configure, implement, and support core FI modules including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Banking, and Asset Accounting.
- Product Costing & Manufacturing Accounting: Design and implement solutions for Product Costing (Material Master, Material Costing, Cost Object Controlling, Product Cost by Period/Order) to accurately track and report manufacturing costs and production variances.
- Intercompany & Process Optimization: Develop and optimize Intercompany processes, including intercompany billing, reconciliation, and eliminations, while driving process harmonization under a "Clean Core" SaaS architecture.
- Finance Strategy & CFIN Ownership: Translate executive finance priorities into automated cloud capabilities. Own the end-to-end integration with Mars Central Finance (CFIN), ensuring real-time financial document replication (FI/CO), AIF error resolution, cost object mapping, and group consolidation integrity.
- Team Leadership & Development: Directly lead, mentor, and oversee the Finance Functional Analyst. Masterfully match the analyst and partner resources to initiatives based on complexity and skill.
- Delivery, AI & Governance: Deliver financial initiatives via SAP Activate using CALM, Jira, and Monday.com. Drive adoption of AI agents (Joule, Copilot) and SAP Situation Handling to automate reconciliations and anomaly detection. Govern AMS support against SLA/KPI metrics (MTTR, close ticket SLAs) and enforce Mars Financial Manual (MFM) standards and RBAC/SoD.
Qualifications (Must-Haves):
- Experience: 8+ years of progressive enterprise ERP experience specializing in financial system design, implementation, and operations; demonstrated experience mentoring and leading functional analysts.
- SAP S/4HANA Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience architecting, configuring, and leading SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI/CO) solutions, with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud experience considered a strong plus.
- Mars Central Finance (CFIN) Integration: Proven experience with or deep functional understanding of SAP Central Finance (CFIN) replication mechanics, AIF error handling, and master data mapping.
- Industry: 5+ years in CPG or Food & Beverage environments (product costing, standard costing variances, inventory valuation, co-manufacturing accounting, trade deduction integration).
- Delivery & Tooling: Experience delivering projects via SAP Activate using SAP Cloud ALM (CALM), Jira, Monday.com, or Smartsheet, combined with AI agent and Situation Handling exception automation.
- Governance & Controls: Strong working knowledge of enterprise financial controls, Mars internal control standards (MFM), role-based security catalogs, and AMS partner SLA management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Master’s degree, MBA, CPA, or CMA certification.
- SAP S/4HANA Cloud Finance certification or SAP Activate certification.
- Experience with third-party financial platforms (BlackLine, Concur, Vertex/Avalara, banking APIs) or SAP Group Reporting.
The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the below range, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay & general allowances (depending on the position and employee’s work schedule). Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable policies and plans then in effect, and depending on the position offered and the employee’s work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule), eligible employees are automatically enrolled in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents, and may be eligible to take up to 18 weeks of paid parental leave. Employees will also receive the following paid-time off (which may be prorated based on start date and the employee’s work schedule): 120 hours of vacation per year, paid sick time for eligible Associates of 100% pay continuation for a maximum of 40 hours per calendar year, and 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year that include both fixed and flexible holidays.
