What you’ll do

As a Lead Electrical Engineer – Power Systems Modelling for our Industrial team based in Brisbane, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering complex, high-impact projects across a major oil and gas portfolio, while mentoring talented engineers and building trusted client relationships.

This is an opportunity to combine your deep technical expertise with leadership, influencing project outcomes from concept through to delivery and contributing to infrastructure that powers industry and communities. You will:

  • Act as a trusted advisor and key point of contact for clients and project teams, providing technical guidance on electrical works across a diverse portfolio of industrial projects.

  • Lead the design and delivery of high-voltage power infrastructure projects, including systems up to 66kV.

  • Deliver complex power system studies, modelling and electrical design solutions that support safe, reliable and efficient operations.

  • Develop, maintain and enhance power system models to inform project planning, design and performance outcomes.

  • Build strong, lasting client relationships by providing practical, value-driven engineering advice and helping identify future opportunities.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated solutions and successfully deliver complex projects.

  • Mentor, support and develop engineers across local and geographically dispersed teams, fostering technical excellence and professional growth.

  • Guide project delivery, managing performance, budgets, schedules and quality outcomes.

  • Champion innovation, continuous improvement and best-practice engineering standards across the team.

What you’ll bring

  • Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, supported by RPEQ, CPEng or RPEng accreditation.

  • Proven experience in HV and LV power systems within industrial, resources or heavy industry environments.

  • Extensive experience in power systems modelling, analysis and electrical design.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects and guide multidisciplinary teams to successful outcomes.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience building trusted relationships with clients and project teams.

  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, practical and commercially focused recommendations.

  • Excellent communication, technical reporting and client-facing skills.

  • A collaborative approach and passion for supporting the growth and success of others.
