Become a part of the Nike, Inc. Team

Nike does more than outfit the world's best athletes. It’s a place to explore your potential, obliterate boundaries, and push the edges of what can be. The company looks for people who can grow, think, dream and create. Its culture thrives by embracing diversity and rewarding imagination. The brand seeks achievers, leaders and visionaries. At Nike, it’s about each person bringing skills and passion to a challenging and constantly evolving game.

Nike Digital Product Design executes thoughtful design solutions for business and consumer problems at scale. We craft the overall form and function of our digital products — defining the user experiences and interfaces for Nike’s Commerce Experiences (Nike App and Nike.com)

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a Lead Designer to join our team. You’re well-honed design skills and talent for leading teams through design projects. You’re the glue between design, engineering and product. You own a project from start to finish — solving design challenges while inspiring others through your work and collaboration. You’re also growing your leadership skills by being a mentor to other designers.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • Thinking big, innovating and driving design execution across a complex product domain, taking ownership of large, ambiguous initiatives

  • Designing incredibly polished work that represents the Nike brand and product experience through wireframes, visual comps, flows and prototypes

  • Inspiring new ways of thinking and exploring the unknown using fresh approaches to design problems while applying your knowledge of standard methodologies and user-centered design principles to build simple, beautiful and seamless workflows

  • Developing design solutions using participatory and iterative techniques including user interviews, observation, usability testing, validation, and design thinking brainstorms and workshops

  • Rapidly iterating and refining design concepts — from initial briefing through final delivery

  • Mentoring and providing helpful feedback to fellow designers and interns to uplevel their craft and skills

  • Evangelizing the Nike brand and driving initiatives that strengthen Nike's design culture internally

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You’ll be part of the Commerce Team, focused on Discover and Browser experiences. We’re responsible for the world’s most-loved consumer experiences — inspiring consumers to discover new Nike innovations, and helping them find the product that’s right for them. You’ll work closely and collaboratively with a cross-functional team of product managers, program managers, engineers, researchers and fellow designers to discover and understand business, feature, and user requirements that translate into thoughtful design executions.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 8+ years of relevant experience with end-to-end digital product design with proven experience in visual design and UX

  • A bachelor’s degree or any combination of education, training and experience in design, UX/UI design, human-computer interaction or a related field

  • Strong understanding of product thinking, interaction design, data science, experimentation and execution (expert in one or more areas)

  • Hands-on creative and systems thinker with strong UX/UI/IA design expertise

  • Demonstrated user-centric design approach and insights-based design process

  • Proven collaborator with product managers, engineers, writers, researchers and marketers

  • Strong design process; ability to contribute new processes or enhancements to cross-functional teams

  • Experience working with consumer research and data

  • Impeccable attention to detail

  • Exceptional time management skills — providing accurate estimations and often helping the team deliver early

  • Ability to influence or create design patterns or standards that are adopted by other teams

  • Highly proficient with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe CC, Principle and Keynote

  • Cross-platform design experience (enterprise platforms, web, Android, iOS, email, etc.), and ability to approach problems from the consumer perspective—internal or external

  • Ability to communicate a vision for the work in a way others can relate to and buy into

  • Ability to establish a holistic look and feel between all pieces of a large project

  • Experience launching software at scale in a fast-paced product organization

  • Passion for the Nike brand, sport and for creating high-quality work

  • A fascination with innovation and technology and a solid understanding of digital tools and trends

What We Do

At NIKE, Inc., it’s in our nature to innovate and our mission is to bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete* in the world [if you have a body, you’re an athlete]. Because we exist to serve athletes, we dare to design the future of sport. To us, innovation is about elevating human potential. We obsess over the needs of athletes of all abilities, using their insights to create products that are beautiful, useful and make all athletes better. To make big leaps, we take big risks. Incremental change won’t get us to where we want to go fast enough. So we pursue moonshots — like developing the first self-lacing shoe, running the first two-hour marathon and committing to 100% renewable energy use in our facilities. We embrace different perspectives — from scientists and designers to coders and quarterbacks — because we know everyone brings unique experiences and ideas to the team. To serve athletes across the hundreds of countries where NIKE does business, we need teams that truly reflect the diversity of our consumers and a culture of inclusivity. We aim to foster inclusion and embrace diversity throughout our business, teams, and culture to create breakthrough innovations, empower teammates to realize their full potential and bring us closer to the communities we serve. NIKE's diverse, high-performing teams around the world are united in purpose and inspired to change the world through sport.

Why Work With Us

With a global footprint, culture of innovation and team-first mentality, we take action to create a future of continual progress for athletes, sport and our world. Whether our job is designing the ultimate sneaker or coding a revolutionary app, we’re united by the same mission: to bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete in the world.
