As a Design Engineer, you will take the technical lead on projects and guide our early career engineers. You will present to senior leaders and to cross functional teams on how technologies interconnect and contribute to overall strategy.
 

As a Lead Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Working with the Downhole Products Technology Team to develop gamma and orientation detectors for downhole applications
  • Developing and/or reviewing detailed component and system designs to meet new product specifications
  • Ensuring component and system designs are analytically robust, and empirically tested and verified
  • Ensuring that proper DFSS and DFM rigor has been applied throughout the design process, in collaboration with other Technology team members and other functions
  • Coordinating multiple project tasks with the product Technical Manager.
  • Working directly with the respective Product Line Leader, Quality, Manufacturing, and other Functional Teams to ensure products meet internal and external requirements, start to finish, and provide for continued growth of the product line.
  • Fostering a creative environment allowing, for new ideas while embracing speed and excellence.
  • Leveraging, expanding, and creating design best practices
  • Supporting technical discussions with customers as needed

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Applied Physics
  • Design Engineering experience (Minimum of 5 years)
  • Experience with a CAD package (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Have familiarity with upstream oil and gas applications (MWD, LWD, and/or Wireline logging preferred)
  • Experience with Stage-Gate product development process
