What you will be doing:

As a Test Lead you will be responsible in ensuring to drive quality for web , API and Data centric platforms using Playwright, MABL, and AI‑assisted testing. You will own end‑to‑end test strategy, lead a small squad of SDETs/QA engineers, and embed continuous testing into CI/CD to ship reliable software at speed. This role blends technical leadership (framework design, tooling choices, quality gates) with people leadership (planning, coaching, stakeholder communication).

The role emphasizes shift‑left practices, contract/API testing, and scalable automation with Playwright and MABL to achieve high automation coverage and predictable release readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning

  • Own the test strategy across features/releases; define scope, coverage, environments, and quality gates aligned to product risk.
  • Champion shift‑left testing, contract testing, and early scenario sharing in sprint planning.
  • Establish and maintain quality metrics/KPIs (defect escape rate, automation pass rate, flaky test index, API coverage, MTTR).

Test Automation & Tooling

  • Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript): Architect scalable UI/functional test suites; design page object models/fixtures; enable parallel, cross‑browser runs in CI.
  • MABL: Build low‑code E2E flows; leverage auto‑healing and visual checks; integrate insights into CI/CD and test management tools.
  • API testing: Design robust API test strategy (positive/negative/contract/versioning); implement tests using Postman/RestAssured or equivalent; enforce schema and backward‑compat checks.
  • Introduce AI‑assisted testing techniques (self‑healing locators, risk‑based test selection, agentic test generation proposals) to reduce maintenance and target high‑value coverage.
  • Enable mocking/service virtualization for upstream/downstream dependencies; seed and manage test data safely.

CI/CD & Operations

  • Integrate suites into CI/CD (Azure DevOps/GitHub/Jenkins); set up nightly/regression pipelines and alerts for failures.
  • Drive “quality at speed”: stabilize pipelines, reduce flaky tests, and continuously improve execution time and reliability.
  • Ensure that data testing practices align with organizational data governance policies, industry regulations, and standards.
  • Ensure the privacy, security, and compliance of data in testing processes.
  • Contract testing (e.g., Pact), service virtualization, and data test strategies.
  • Performance testing (k6/JMeter) and observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana).
  • Mobile/web hybrid exposure (Appium) and accessibility testing.
  • Experience with test management/reporting integrations (Jira/Xray, dashboards).
  • Familiarity with QA maturity models and predictive release readiness metrics.

Qualifications / Skills :

  • 8–12 years in software testing/quality engineering with 3+ years leading QA/SDET teams.
  • Strong hands‑on experience building automation frameworks with Playwright (TS/JS) and delivering maintainable suites at scale.
  • Proven experience with MABL for web/E2E automation, including CI/CD integration and reporting.
  • Deep expertise in API testing (Postman/RestAssured or similar), HTTP semantics, status codes, headers, schema validation, and negative testing.
  • Working knowledge of AI‑assisted testing approaches (self‑healing, intelligent test selection) and practical application to reduce test debt.
  • CI/CD proficiency (Azure DevOps/GitHub/Jenkins); Git workflows; test analytics/dashboards.
  • Solid grounding in Agile/Lean (Scrum/Kanban), BDD/TDD concepts, and defect triage.

Tools & Tech Stack

  • Automation: Playwright (TS/JS), mabl (cloud)
  • API: Postman/RestAssured, schema validation (OpenAPI/JSON Schema)
  • CI/CD: Azure DevOps/GitHub/Jenkins; containerized runners

Reporting/Observability: Dashboarding via pipeline reports; alerts through Teams/Outlook.
