The Team and Role:

As a Lead CMF Designer based in Hsinchu, Taiwan, you are a subject matter expert with an established track record of resolving complex problems and delivering high-volume products to market. You will apply your expertise across design disciplines to ensure CMF concepts are successfully translated from vision to mass production.
Based in a key design and engineering hub, you will think big-picture while anticipating and preventing potential production issues. You will lead CMF strategy at the program level, exercising considerable latitude in determining design objectives and removing barriers to ensure seamless product launches.

• NPI Leadership: Drive CMF solutions through the entire product development lifecycle. You are responsible for the successful transition from design concept to market-ready product, ensuring aesthetic and functional integrity.

• Complex Problem Solving: Apply unique expertise to resolve technical CMF challenges during the NPI phase. Anticipate manufacturing risks and implement preventative strategies to maintain design intent.

• Strategic Execution: Establish strategies for achieving program-level goals. You will work with minimal direction to manage CMF deliverables across multiple complex projects simultaneously.

• Cross-Functional Influence: Act as a spokesperson for Design on major matters pertaining to design principles and objectives. You will lead and influence within your team and collaborate proactively with Engineering and BG (Business Group) stakeholders.

• Mentorship & Onboarding: Act as a lead within the team, invested in sharing your NPI knowledge, mentoring junior designers, and onboarding new members to ensure they are set up for success.

Key Qualifications:
For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:

• CMF Expertise: 8+ years of experience in CMF design with a heavy emphasis on New Product Introduction and bringing consumer electronics to market.

• Manufacturing Knowledge: Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, finishing techniques, and quality control standards. You know what works and what doesn't in a mass-production environment.

• Program-Level Leadership: Proven ability to lead design concepts at the program and portfolio level, coordinating activities of other designers

• Proactive Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate and influence across multiple levels, specifically bridging the gap between design vision and technical implementation.

• Decision-Making: A track record of making high-impact decisions that affect the future course of a product line and the achievement of department goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related field.

• A portfolio showcasing successful high-volume product launches and the CMF documentation/processes that supported them.

• Strong networking skills with key contacts in the Taiwan supply chain and manufacturing sector.

• Passion for leading others and fostering a culture of enthusiasm and execution excellence.
