Role Overview
As the Lead Cloud Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in architecting, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Azure services. This position requires strategic planning and execution of cloud projects, ensuring that our platforms are secure, scalable, and optimized for performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive digital transformation and uphold best practices in cloud adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop cloud-based architectures that align with business objectives. Define cloud strategies and roadmaps to facilitate digital transformation initiatives.
- Lead and manage cloud migration projects, ensuring minimal downtime and risk. Establish realistic timelines and ensure projects meet deadlines.
- Enhance cloud environments focusing on security, scalability, and cost-efficiency. Continuously improve product deployment automation and monitoring capabilities.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform. Promote and integrate DevSecOps practices across all development phases, from design to production.
- Engage with Software Engineering and Product teams to understand priorities and requirements. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Design and implement processes and procedures to support a growing team, ensuring consistency and quality across all projects.
Key Skills & Experience
- +8 years in cloud engineering roles, with extensive expertise in Azure cloud services. Proven experience in a leadership or technical lead capacity.
- Strong knowledge of networking, security, and cloud governance. Proficiency in IaC tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation. Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
- Deep understanding of both relational (e.g., MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB).
- Strong project management skills with familiarity in Scrum methodologies. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent ability to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering a transparent and inclusive team environment.
- Innate curiosity with a strong desire to understand how complex systems integrate and function. Ability to work independently, taking initiative and driving projects to completion without direct supervision.
