Job SummaryThe Lead Agilist will have broad experience leading (Scrum Master or Agile Lead) and coaching teams and portfolios using multiple Agile ways of working and frameworks. Primary responsibilities include teaching & coaching new concepts and value delivery disciplines to teams and colleagues. The Lead Agilist is capable of leading teams, but also coaching teams and individuals on Agile mindset, systems thinking, and consulting on different ways of working. The person in this role has an active leadership role in communities of practice, coaching mid-level leaders, and is viewed as an expert in many aspects of the Agile toolset.
ResponsibilitiesDelivering Agility
Teach and coach new concepts and disciplines for value delivery
Working closely with other coaches/Agility consultants to implement programs to promote best practices across the organization
Teaches team to manage and resolve impediments to value delivery
Enables the transition to Agile by empowering teams to develop an Agile mindset
Train Teams to enable transition to an Agile way of working.
Setting up governing policies to support Agile-based approaches.
Facilitating change in new ways of working.
Applying System thinking to expose bottlenecks.
Evaluating and advising on Agile Frameworks.
Proven track record of success in agile product delivery, knowledge of best practices and the ability to provide leadership oversight and planning of development activities
Key agent for driving the maturity of Agile across teams/organizations
Coaching Agility
Coach and mentor other scrum masters, technology and business leaders, and POs to improve both their own and others' knowledge and skills.
Coach Agile mindset to mid-level leaders
Mentor peers and POs to improve both their own and others' knowledge and skills.
Lead agile workshops for product and development teams, as well as key stakeholders
Consult & Advise
Advise and coach Product professionals to develop product and portfolio strategies.
Lead teams through product and portfolio strategies such as value streaming and roadmapping exercises
Organize and align products/services into a portfolio or workflow.
Coach product mindset to mid-level leaders
Cultural Growth & Influence
Foster collaboration and communication within the program/portfolio
Challenge the status quo
Participates in other communities (i.e. product, change, design thinking)
Takes a leadership role in Community of Practice (CoP)/Center of Excellence (CoE)

Previous Duke Energy experience
Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
Demonstrated servant-leadership in nontraditional ways (coaching, volunteer work leadership, etc.)
Interacts effectively with others at all levels of the organization; makes persuasive and informative presentations.
Hybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility.
At least 1 of the following certifications: CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP, KMP, ICP-ATF, SA, SASM, DASM, PMP
