The Legal Corporate & ESG-team is based in Veldhoven and works with a network of ASML inhouse counsels globally. The team is part of the ASML Legal & Compliance department, which includes over 100 professionals.
The team provides expert legal advice related to a broad array of corporate matters within the ASML group, such as mergers and acquisitions, investments, restructurings, financing, legal entity management, disclosures, insider trading compliance and intercompany flows.
We advise ASML’s ESG and Sustainability functions, providing guidance on sustainability related matters, concentrating on the environmental and the social pillars of ESG. As legal experts, we interpret upcoming laws and regulations and support the organization in understanding its ESG reporting and due diligence obligations.
Your assignmentThe team is looking to hire 2 dynamic and motivated interns to join the legal corporate & ESG team. Mainly to focus on two topics of ESG-related topics and corporate matters.
We aim to give each intern a focus area (corporate or ESG) but both interns will have the opportunity to be involved a wide range of business activities of the entire team.
Your tasks will be varied and tailored to your background and preferences, ensuring a challenging and enriching experience.
You will actively participate in our team's daily operations and contribute to Legal Corporate & ESG’s projects, large and small.
The corporate legal internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about corporate law, financing, legal entity management, disclosures and how to navigate a large global listed company through close collaboration with a diverse group of experienced colleagues, including those in ASML’s Tax, Accounting and Treasury departments.
The ESG internship gives you the chance to work in a dynamic field of law, where change seems to be the only constant. You are at the forefront of helping the company understand and implement new ESG laws and regulations. This involves analyzing and interpreting these laws and transforming (complex) obligations and requirements into practical advice for the team’s internal stakeholders.
Key deliverables include:
Corporate focus
gain hands on experience with corporate law in the Netherlands and the wider EMEA region
apply relevant corporate law in annual compliance processes within a group structure, document management, shareholder administration, UBO registration, etc.
learn how to draft and execute event driven corporate changes, such as board changes and changes regarding signing authority
prepare legal advice on specific, well-defined corporate matters
support in various kinds of transactions in the field of Finance and M&A/VC (depending on relevance, availability, sensitivity and complexity)
ESG focus
monitor, analyze and interpret upcoming legislation in the field of ESG and transform regulatory obligations and requirements into practical advice for internal stakeholders
assist our business counterparts understand how changes in laws and regulations will affect their activities
prepare legal advice on relevant ESG matters, such as CSRD, CSDDD and EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation
drafting commercial agreements in support of the company’s contributions to initiatives under the ASML community partnership program

support in the standardization of processes and documentation
understand and facilitate decision-making in a complex and global organization, including preparing decision-making documents to be used in different stages and on different levels and internal corporate bodies
support in commercial contracting, where the activities of the team’s internal stakeholders so require
This is a master's level internship lasting minimum 6 months, for minimum 3 days per week (maximum 5 days per week) with onsite and hybrid option. Starting in September 2025.
Your profileTo be a good fit for this internships, you:
are a master student in the final year with a focus on corporate law, financial law and/or commercial law.
are enrolled in a Master program such as Business Law, Corporate Law, Financial Law, European Law or Law & Economics
are fluent in English, both oral and written, Dutch is an advantage
possess effective communication skills and the ability to connect with relevant stakeholders
are able to work in a structured manner and have attention to detail
have a genuine interest to comprehend the matters you are working on and how the team’s activities fit in ASML’s overall strategy
have a hands-on mentality, be proactive, and self-motivated.
Other requirements you need to meet:
- You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
- You are located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate; Please indicate which focus of the topic you are interested in when you apply (ESG topic or corporate).
- If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
